G3 must have heard I was handing out free labor again.... cuz this thing rolled up on Sunday. Still so fucking clean... makes me want to hurl.

He got these small ambers from Sierra LED for free when he won light bar too. Figured we might as well try and make use of them!! So, first step is to hack off the weirdness from factory frame:

At first I thought I might be able to squeeze them in the frame rail. Not quite.

I also thought of removing the mounting flange and just mounting it to plate. Problem there is they have an o-ring seal that is sealing in a recessed surface.
Another option would be to hack the ears for mounting bolts off the mounting flanges ...and just cap the frame end completely. Have a square cut in that to show recessed light... and get longer bolts to mount light thru the 6x bolts that actually seal the housing to mounting flange. I still feel like they might stick out too much and this would look strange??

So instead of hacking into lights right off the bat, I am thinking I can just scoot them up and mount a tab over top out of 3/16" and tap it.... and them make a plate on bottom to fill the void and mount the lower bolts. We'll see hot that looks first. That way I don't hack into lights.. or mess with sealing either.

Soooo.. you guys missed another free labor saturday! hahah. Actually, I think it was more than 1x weekend.

G3 came over again...

We got all those mounts made up for the Sierra LED squares. Ready to burn them in... and then I decided to power one up to see "how bright" they are gonna be. Uhhh wut? I can't even tell it's on!! Oops, should have done that a long time ago!

Brother was severely disappointed. Said.. "no fucking way I am putting those things on my truck". I couldn't disagree. So... decision was... go get some REAL Baja Designs S2 lights and stick um in there. So, he ordered up some flush mount S2's ... with the work pattern lens. Should be good as a utility light for winching or camp.. or as reverse lights.

Got the S2's. Quickly realized they were also a tiny bit too large to easily stuff in the frame. I had some ideas. Fucking flush mount the flush mount!!! Ended up taking the face plate off and using just the actual light itself. Took measurements on pattern... and marked it out.

4x holes, a couple of 1.25" hole saw and 2x slot cuts later...and things are looking cool.

Ohh yea. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!!

Couldn't see shit when welding with my free auto darkening hood. I need a new fucking fixed shade screen for my other hood. In fact, that reminds me. I need to get a new one and fill up my bottle ASAP!
Still managed to do OK for basically being 100% blind while welding.

Painted up. Didn't get final assembly pics...
