Thread: quick question

I have an opportunity to buy a pre 90's ranger, with a 5.0 out of a mustang shoe horned into it. its got long travel beams, and a ford 9 inch.., i would have to buy coil overs and probably do up the rear suspension.. not to mention cage it front to back.... but he only wants 2 grand for it as is.. So my question is providing the vehicle is in good mechanical condition,
1.) do you think this is a worth while palce to start
2.) From my understanding 1450 is a unlimited class,so i shcould be able to run it untill im fast enough to compete with the 1400 trucks Correct? unless i want to race score in which case they have engine size restrictions from what i've seen..?

1) good place to start if you plan on green stickering the truck

2) those are the rules for MDR this year, but if you were to race MORE you would be in 1400

By green stickering you mean race only truck correct?? and yeah that would be the plan.

Green sticker = OHV registration, not street.

I needs shocks and a cage, and a new 3rd member, does it sound like a money pit if im just racin it in 1450?

how much is he asking for it? sounds like a good start if you dont go thru with it let me know i will pick it up
