No more detail specials?
No more detail specials?
blah blah blah
if all you want is a special, then I am not really the guy you are looking for. I specialize in paint correction work, not the average detail stuff like waxing and interiors. i am starting up another business soon that will specialize in the lower end, higher volume work like what you would find at car washes, but mobile - catering to the other 99% of the driving population. I have been told numerous times that its not worth over $250, and quite honestly, I dont really touch cars much anymore for less than 350-500 (definitely a niche market, I know), so you can see why I wouldnt run any specials and fill my day with a $200 deal...sorry. Paint correction is a skill that not every detailer has...thats why you see buffer trails and holograms, burned edges, polish/wax all over black trim, etc. My low end is a one step polishing, and even that takes me 5-6 hours on an M3...while two of those in a day can make a great day, its a long day...no imagine doing two of those for $200 each...now subtract travel time, gas, supplies, etc....it doesnt make sense to work for myself without benefits (might as well go use my degree and work for someone else and get better insurance, free car, retirement account, etc.). The only real deals I give out are things like free interior with two cars booked in one day at retail price, extra sealant coat, free glaze step to amp gloss even more isntead of an IPA wipedown only...things like that...
The other business should be a month or so out, start up in march if I can get someone to train with me throughout February...
And dont take that the wrong way, its just the reality of how I have my business setup...higher end which means I get told no thanks a lot more now, but when people do say yes, I get to go all out and blow their mind!
Envious Detailing: Nero Ferrari 458 - proper new car prep - owner extrmely happy, service center managers in awe
HUGE lambo gallardo write up - enjoy - blew his mind, I'm the only one who touches his cars now with a polisher

Maybe he meant like another wright up.
hahaha, I dont think so, but Ill get a write-up done and posted for you by the end of today
I Can see we're your coming from Eric, I know I'm not as experienced but from what I've done, and what I've always thought is, unless its not a paint correction it's not worth to detail.
Ill do a discount detail for you though! I think it's fun.
Thanks Eric for leading me the right way! The line above the light isn't a scratch it's part of the light.
no problem man, glad I could help
Its not that its not worth it though, its that there is more money to be made in paint correction UNLESS I can get two smaller jobs done in one day....let me clarify
I work at $60/hr. a 10 hour paint correction runs $600 bucks. that includes time worked, products, gas getting there (a lot of times over an hour away - carlsbad, SD, LA), and the biggest factor you are paying for....KNOWLEDGE. Go get a car wash guy and put him on the car with me and we will split the hood and each will have different results guaranteed. My side will look correct while his side will have holograms and hazy paint still. Its just a fact. What I do in 10 hours cannot be done in 3-4 hours, there is simply no way.
Now, you want it done for half the price??? OK, here is what you will get: less thorough wash, less passes with polishes/compounds, no paintwork cleanser step to make the sealant wax bond better to the paint, no extra "spiff ups". What does that mean...well, less clean car over all, less clear paint with more swirl marks and RIDS still left in the paint, less gloss, a sealant wax that wont last but maybe 6 weeks instead of 4-6 months because its not actually bonded to the car, but rather on the suspended polishing oils.
Thats a quick breakdown of what you get with a cheap detail and one that is more costly and more thorough from me. i will be doing a write up on the differences this month...Ill be sure to link it up here...
