What are the gusset requirements at the main cage, between the A and B pillars.

getting started on it again today after work. first thing to do is move the battery box out of the passenger area, c-mon Rick! he should have known better than that! then finish the passenger foot rest, put on the pushrod tube savers, and set up the dash gussets - so i can cut out the middle of the dash and build a template for the aluminum piece i have for it. then i think im ready for the tear down, rebuild the trans, paint, and start putting it together. all im missing for it right now is break lines, oil lines and lights.

might be a dumb question, but what the heck is that round thing on the right? giant horn/siren button?
the button you push to cross the intersection when on foot, or the biggest PTT ever.

Are the crumbco chassis ment to be light weight? They sure do have a lot less tubbing triangulation than other designs. Craftsmanship looks spot on.

Yep, thats a cross walk putton. Using it for the horn, easy to push when bouncing around. (in my case, used as a thank you for not running my slow ass over as you fly by me.. Ha!) Crumco mentioned something like the body of the bug is used as part of the structural integrity of the cage,,, or something like that. Thats why the webbing is designed that way. ???? I'm not a fabricator,, I just play one in the shop.

He's talking about the sides. If you are sitting in the driver's seat and swing you're foot to the left side you would normally hit a tube on a 45*. Just run it, if there is a problem deal with it then.

he's talking about inside the foot-well of the car where your feet go. basically there should be a diagonal that runs from the a-pillar at the base of the dash and extends down towards the the bottom floor tube and front junction. it might even be a good idea to put an x in those sections. without those diagonals you will be chasing cracks, or worse, missing a front end when you least expect it.
Here you go. Borrowed from Busk's thread, because his is perfect for kicking ass. I hope he doesn't mind.
The first is what we are talking about.
If not, then you get this.
Then some good examples of triangulation.

Like ace Ventura avoiding the snakes in the pet shop, I haven't done the Hood yet. Starting to put it together. What torque specs do I use for the cv bolts? And should I use red or blue locktight?

Getting light bar done soon, and tubes put in the doors for side mirrors. Tune the motor, then it's done!
