im in so cal. brea.
why? she doesnt like this stuff? lol
Might be a bit of a commute for me...im in Canada.
This truck steals enough of my time...another one might be pushing it.
no way! i didnt know that, lol
well it wouldnt have been anytime soon, just a thought.
but super nice work on your truck!![]()
Lots of late nights and we made it for race 1 of our series...still welding bits on saturday racing to get done.
Sunday fun! Front suspension was too soft, bottomed out and caved in the oil pan, so we have to crank up the torsion bars, and build a skid plate.
We have to run an oil pressure switch that shuts off the fuel pump...well the only GM part on my truck fucked up and made it so i couldnt run the final. Stupid switch!
Other than a bit of tuning, i was extremely happy with it! What a freakin blast.
Heres a couple pics:

Im a little unsure of how a short course truck will do in a desert race. I would like to give it a shot though! I want to do the goldendale race this fall in washington state. Any thoughts?
This is the only other one I have now...I just painted it today, maybe some painted pics tomorrow....

Hey Poopy I just found this thread, pretty sweet truck dude. You haven't posted on Baja North in a while, I was beginning to wonder if you finished your truck up. Looks great though.
Oh and you should check out the thread on the rally they had up there in Kamloops, I think Banger is gonna do another one in the fall. Here's a link to the video I made, nothing special just a few clips I cut together .

Hey man...ya i got it done....nope havent posted on BN lately, too many message boards to post on i guess.
Was the rally good? You going to the hope summer smash? My buddy is trying to get me to do the time trial obstacle course thing, but i might have to work.
Yea for sure, I just kinda skank around on a few boards so my posts never really add up into the "elite" DR numbers haha.
Yea I will be out at the Hope Smash this weekend I think. Probably not entering but I'll be there watching at least and hopefully volunteering.
This thread is badass, got any updates on the truck?
this truck is superfuckingbadass!
teeth fabber.
looks like canadia has a pretty decent truck racing scene lol
Nice work on the truck man! I sure like your cab cage, and your paint![]()
Looks like Poopy fell over again. I guess that happens when three trucks go for one line through a corner.

Ahhh I saw that race haha. I wish I would've had the camera rolling for that last heat though.

Hey poopy, I chase for the 7s General Tire truck, and I can tell you a couple of things that plague that truck (other than age!),the pork-chop bolts on the torsion key's ,and the bracket/ cross member where they live. I had a chance to do a shake down run in it out in Barstow, my first trip in it behind the wheel, and manged to break the bolts that adjust the torsion bars, yea 3 day's before the Baja 500. So F911 bolts were used, and worked great. After the last SNORE 250 race, our cross member that holds the torsion bolts beagan to crack, and litteraly fell off crossin the finish line. Beef these area's up! Good luck, awesome thread, nice build up! Drop a line if you ever hit the SoCal desert's.
Horsepower is fun, but torque gets it done.
if you run a truck on torsion bars long enough the crossmember will rip out. they need alot of plating and gusseting.
lets hope i dont break one of those bolts, still running the stock ones.
Thanks for the info guys....that is the only place I havent touched. Anyone have any pictures of the extent you go through to beef the cross member up?
Oh and here are some updates....Last race of the season, the truck was running awesome, motor was good, suspension was a lot more dialled.
I won the first heat race, but apparently passed on a yellow...3rd in the second heat. In the main I started from the second row, rolling start, charged the inside line got the holeshot, but got a little squirrely after the last jump and I hooked a rut that ran me right into a tire wall, and this is what happened....lol

anything happen with this truck? love the build!
Heres mine, the body is pretty beat on it so I figured instead of just dumping 2k for a new Ivan Dan bod, I'm just going to go ahead and buy a Boatec Taco body, its torsion f&r, soon to be c/o'ed

Awesome build man! The truck looks great, keep it comin'!
