Oh yeah I forgot to say...thanks for the shocks, they are working out awesome, way softer than the stockers the chicky had before. Now if you get a buyer for your bike i'll be glad to buy your elkas, and give you my stockers....

Let me know...hows the urban assault vehicle coming along?

Yeah, I've ridden an '06 KTM300 and a Husky 450 4st with a Rekluse and it was definately nice. I can't imagine the hill climbs you could make with one of those!!!

Rekluse turns your bike into an overgrown XR50 basically where you still have to shift but you don't have to use the clutch...

No camera last night but I installed my GPR damper, Alum skid under the frame, exhaust flange guard, and a slave cylinder guard. Tonight I'm throwing on a rear master cylinder extension and heat sink...

Probably ordering a carbon fiber pipe guard later on today.

Anyone in Phx area I'm riding Canyon tomorrow night if interested...

What's done to the KTM besides subtanks on the forks? *Oh, and do you think the subtanks are worth it for Hare & hound type stuff? *Basically minimal track/jumping stuff.

I just walked out and took some photos of the bike. *It's loaded, I'm going to the track today after work and riding tomorrow down in Phx or Gila Bend...

I picked up all the following parts for $150 used off a friend with exception of the stabilizer itself. I did get the mount and clamp for the stabilizer in the purchase though...

The collar around the exhaust flange on the cylinder is known to be weak. *One bump to the exhaust can crack it and you buy a new cylinder, or you buy this $40 protector...

Hydro Slave cylinder action with the aftermarket protector and built in case guard...

    Skidplate...

Flex bars with some handguards and wrap round stuff... *LOL, technical terms there!!!

    GPR???

we actully sold most the good stuff like gpr stabilizer, flex bars wheels skid plates all that sence it goes back. but the suspention is vaulved for his weight and style. also the sub tanks help with the trastion from slow speed to high speed compression and rebound so much its not funny. nice and soft in the woods and then at speeds it stiffens up. right now its got a brand new motor I just went and put all the new parts in it from crank rod clutch basket hub plates hi comp piston new head and cylender and it has fmf pipe and silencer. only thing I hate about the 300s is how bad they vibrate and how many upper motor mounts you will break.

Not sure but I would guess it's more a 2 stroke issue since the exhaust is more vulnrable. (sp?)

ya thats true, didnt think about how much more they stick out but if i think correctly the exhaust on the 450 sticks a little bit out, im not gonna worry about it cuz i dont do trail riding its mostly sand and maybe dirt here and there.

You may or may not have seen my prototype Heimed Steering for my quad, well I finished it today.

I ditched the original design in favor of a lighter/cleaner design.

    It is build from 1 1/4" .120 wall tubeing with 5/8" FK Heims, Hi-Misalignment Spacers, 2 1/2" X 1/2" Grade 8 Bolts.

I had to ream out the holes to 1/2" to accept the new bolts. I also had to clearance the oil tank for the bolt heads to clear.

I don't think I'll be having tie rod problems again!

(the metal on the head is from the drilling, not tightening the bolt)

    Inner Heims

    Outer Heim

    Full Droop Straight

    Full Droop Right

    Full Droop Left

    Full Bump Right

My truck has recently been described as both "Boring and Mechanical". And I love it!

As you probably already know, be very careful with the drive belt on that thing......and it woul be a great idea to keep a spare one with you if you plan on venturing away from your tow vehicle. They are fun as hell though.....good luck!
