Thanks man. I like them. There hard to keep clean tho without graphics on them. But a magic easer does work really good. The bike is currently in pieces cuz ima powder coat the frame Kawi green and ordered graphics the other night.

New fork seals, chain adjusting bolts that have been snapped off for 5 years, axle blocks, recharge shock, brake pads, etc etc...... Lots of much needed maintenance and ready to ride the shit out of for the rest of the season!

In the middle of a full tear down and race prep on mine as well. New parts list: Top end with Kibblewhites, rebuilt/revalved suspension, all new bearings everywhere, chain and sprockets, tires, Shorai battery, pegs, brake pads and rear rotor, anti seize and loctite on all hardware, and a thorough cleaning. Gonna be sweet.

Hello motorcycle enthusiasts. I plan on getting a dirt bike again, I'm here to get some info and opinions on a future purchase of mine. First off, im unsure which path I plan on taking. Either going to save up and buy an older 2 stroke (open to 125 or 250) or sell my truck and get a plated bike. Basically want to know what bikes to stay away from, what are some of the best for the money, and what id expect to pay. I'm 5'6" 160lbs, rode a rm85 in my younger years and up until a few months ago had a built xr50. Also curious as to how difficult it is to get my motorcycles license and what bike insurance costs for a 20 year old male. Thanks in advance, Sean.

Get a plated bike, it's the best of both worlds. Out in the desert, you should have plenty of XR600Rs, and 650Rs available. For what you weigh, you might want to start with a plated XR400 to test the water. It still has enough torque and power to move you- but not so much that you're out of control.

Im here to tell you, having a plate is awesome. I have a plated Honda XR650R, and I love mixing it up with my sport bike friends, and thing being able to take off down any road I want to. Dirt or otherwise.

Use a small propane torch to heat it up a little- just don't get crazy with it and it'll come off by hand. Use rubbing alcohol to clean it after, not goof off. Just let the body cool off before you put alcohol on it.

like the cheap plastic one like this?
    Portable Abrasive Blaster Kit

or one of the metal ones?
    Pressurized Sand Blaster
20 Lb. Capacity Pressurized Abrasive Blaster

the 20# is probably more than enough for the small frame and swingarm

nah just a higher bend. i hear a lot of woods guys run minibike (ie 85cc) bars. the added height is more comfortable and they are narrower so they dont clip trees as easily

Yeahp they are actually just carmichael bend twinwalls, idk why they look so tall in the pic. Im only 6'1" ish but i have trouble getting comfortable on most bikes for some reason. First thing i do is lower pegs and taller bars.
