    cool project

have any big immediate plans for it that you're gonna do yourself or just try to get it out for the season and enjoy it, then do some more yourself?

either way, looks like you got a pretty good start

well my original plans before I went to look at it were to just get it going for this thanksgiving. Since seeing it and how well everything was thought out I am going to invest more into it to make it done right all the way to completion. Matt (yz250f) has done an excellent job with it so far. All the work will be completed by Justin and I at SRD, Strategic Racing Designs in Vista. I am a mechanical engineering intern there. My first plans are to finish the plumbing and get all of that done. Then I will move on to wiring the truck and taking it apart to prepare for alignment and final assembly.

Thanks for all the compliments guys! For the rear I have fiberwerx 9in flare 4dr glass. And for the front I am getting a semi custom clip but haven't decided on newer explorer lights or 04 f150.

Wow I am really glad to see someone is going to finish the explorer. I remember when it only had Giant 8" over beams, stock rear, and 32" BFG ATs on when my buddy Rich owned it before Matt got a hold of it. He drove that think like it was a trophy truck even though it had 295k miles on it! Good luck man and I cant wait to see it finished

i don't think what glass he's putting on it is going to matter as much as how it functions. looks like there is more ahead than front end appearance

some work I did today, more disassembling of various parts. Pulled the Cell out. Pulled fuel lines and brake lines out. Going to reroute some of that to make a cleaner final product. Started cutting of the firewall. Going for a smooth clean look with that. I am also going to make the center section removable so that it is easy to work on the motor and can adjust timing without pulling the motor out. The firewall is to close to the distributor at the moment. Won't do much work on it again till wednesday night. I'm hoping to pull the motor and tranny out by next weekend.

Also, anyone know where I can get a mockup SBC? Like one of the foam engines.

Ya I love the baker glass as well, want to go with that but I want to go with a 1-piece. Who makes a 1-piece that keeps the explorer front end? I haven't had a chance to do much searching on that yet

not really sure, as far as I know this motor was not run in this explorer. Maybe the owner at that point was a huge chevy fan??

Thanks for that link, a little more expensive than I wanted to spend, I'll probably just try to find one I can borrow from someone. for a weekend.

Awesome Matt!!! I'm hoping for around new years but we'll see if the school schedule allows that. I'm pulling the motor out tonight to finish the welding on the engine cage and firewall. And am also going to clean the tranny up real well.
