    Default Squeaky Ass Machine

Edit: changed thread title as not to infringe on any copyrights and the original TotP.

Original specs included camburg 4.5 over beams/radius arms, FOA coilovers, Giant WIY links, but plans changed and there is a deaver race pack in the rear now. Mix of mild and DOM 1.5 120 wall throughout the cage.

    and the build starts....

    Autofab solid motor/trans mounts

first trip out of the garage in 7 months!

drove it around with the stock tires for 3 weeks...

    then something happened...

    glass painting day!

Alright, the dash...I thought i had photo's of how it was cut to fit, but i can't find them. Might be in the updated pics thread somewhere....

all of the dashes wiring harness

all of the photo's were taken after working on the truck, so most of them are in the dark, and they were taken with an iphone, so the quality isn't that great. It all took about 8 months total, only getting an hour or two here and there

ah, chapter three, line one, from "the book of the piece" states:

    - if you have to paint your fiberglass, you didnt plan your truck very well. buy a white truck and the fiberglass is already the right color.

HAHAHAHA. I figured it had to do something with that. I think it would be cool to build a truck using every thing in the book and watch it look like shit while it passes everyone on the track!!!

i think you need to add more tube to that cage

looking good for sure, so clean. only recommendation i can give is to plate the radius arm where the bump hits. they have been known to crack from the bump beating on them.

    Magic!

Um, lets start with the materials i guess:
-home depot roofing stuff (there are two threads on this stuff right now)
    -3M super 77 spray adhesive
    -sharpie
    -razor blade/scissors
    -patience
-some sort of insulation (I attached a photo of the stuff i picked up at pep boys for dirt cheap)

The whole roof was first covered in the home depot roofing stuff. All cut into 6x6 squares to make the application easier/so the tar wouldn't adhere to itself if the sheet folded over. Then some measurements were taken for the triangles of the insulation, then it was cut out with at least 2-3 inches of extra material. And then? And NO and then! Took the cut out piece and mocked it up and marked what needed to be cut/trimmed for it to fit correctly. Once It looked right, I sprayed the home depot stuff with the 3M super 77 and jammed the insulation up before it all dried, making sure to smooth the surface of the insulation so no wrinkles would show up. Any excess material was shoved under the tubes or cut off. There are a total of 7 triangles of insulation on the roof, which made putting it up there much easier than one or two pieces to attempt to mold. I still plan on picking up some fabric and covering the insulation later on, but I haven't finished trimming all the stock plastic panels yet and want it all to go in about the same time.

Nathan- here are some of the threads that helped me/I added input for the stock sender in the fuel cell. If I remember right, you have a jaz cell, so some of the stuff I did wouldn't transfer over, but hopefully it helps you out
