It just seems lazy to me that you would actually run the X in the back of the cab like that. Why cut corners with something that your life will depend on?

Not worried about the x being uncentered. I already fixed The one diagonal that matches which meets SCORE rules. It's my first build so there are little problems like that.

if its your first build you need to take your time and plan everything out...."It's my first build so there are little problems like that. " I would make sure there are no problem....look around and see what other trucks cages look like...

There's gonna be a lot more work to be put in if you're going to wanna be SCORE legal. Gussets and 360 welds all over the place.

I have been adding gussets everywhere and I have 360 welds everywhere except the middle top of cab where I am going to cut a hole to weld there and put the radio antenna and light bar support.

Dave would have sold them to us, but we found some at a junkyard.
hopefully we begin to tack the beams together this weekend.

why dont you guys lay the fuck off this dood. its his first build and he dosent know any better. we all welded like shit and ran tons of dead tubes when we were first starting in our garages.......yes even me. hes building this for himself, not a paying customer so in my eyes its no big deal.

    Thanks Matt.
When I first started my bends were not the best and I went thru a few feet of tubes gettin them right. Now I'm wasting very little and my notches are getting better. I took a welding class at school just for this. I dropped it after I learned mig, stick, and flux. I taught myself TIG.

its fine. fix the in cab x and run it. fix shit as it brakes. i spent 20 mins trying to figure out how to fix the dead tubes. the way u have it they would just be more pointless tubes.

run it have fun when it brakes start fresh at the back of the cab and lay out the tubes befor you weld them all in place.

like matt said. its your truck.

and yeah i dont even want to remember the first motor cage i built. held up for a yr of hard beating. truck got rolled, held up(or so we thought) first ttrip out after the cab swap shocks went through the hood lol.
