That looks so sick... I'm trying to figure out what to do next on my truck... I kinda like the chase rack look.
I mounted up an LED dust light but have yet to wire it.
I also found a 15 gallon air tank Im thinking about mounting in the bed instead of a nitro bottle but Im not sure if thats a good idea or not. I normally put it on my trailer for races but I figured its a good idea for Mex if I have to air down for a recovery mission. Yay or nay?
Either way this thing has done its duty towing and chasing for me over the past year. Baja 500, V2R etc, stoked.
On board air is nice. Especially with a tank as big as 15 gal. I'm setting up a little 5-7 gal tank under the bed of my crew and then a york type compressor to drive/fill it.

Yeah I wont have a compressor so I figured the 15 gallon would work fine. Before the long haul to La Paz Im going to mount the air tank, my Hi Lift Jack, regular jack, and finally wire up my dust light.
Also going to throw my buddys GoPro on the chase rack at different times/angles/places for a different view of Baja. Kind of stoked on how its gonna turn out (in our heads at least LOL).
I'd do the air tank, then throw a pump on the list of things to add.
Im not really worried about adding a pump, the 15 gallon should be good enough for what I need. I dont really plan on airing down since I have 4WD, more of a just in case type of thing... Besides, this thing is gonna go on the backburner updates wise after the 1000. After chasing V2R Im dead set on racing in 2011 as long as its a one day event. Sportsman entry fee isnt too bad, but gas, hotel rooms, and the bar tab for the team is gonna be a huge hit to the wallet.
Im trying to get out of that place full time. Need to stay at 24 hours a week to keep health insurance, so Im starting to give private baseball lessons and get my Rob Mac on being a valet.
Finally got around to wiring up my dust light and it was burned out. So I went to DN since theyre local, and they were closed mid day Friday. Went to McKenzies and bought a Hella Comet 450 halogen dust light and it fired right up. Labelled my switches on the dash too for TT status.
I saw that dude with the Taco, glass and bumper (drawing a blank on his name) today.
I mounted up my HiLift. I priced out the tube mounts for them from HiLift and they were about 40 bucks shipped. I said fuck that noise, went to DeNaults, bought a couple 2" U-bolts with two plates for 3 bucks. Locked the U-bolt to my tube, mounted HiLift, put the other plate on and snugged it up with some rubber around the tube and it works bitchin. Also bought a cheapo Harbor Freight compressor thats 12V. Gonna cut the cig adapter off and wire it to the battery and mount it under the hood I think.

Figured I would bump this since I cant sleep. Heres the list from a while ago:
0. Detail it up because its been abused for the last few months: Done, needed a wax job before the 1000.
1. Wire dust light and label switches on dash: Done
2. Mount extinguisher in cab: I just keep it in the bed so kinda Done
3. Mount Maglight in cab: Done, thanks for the mounts JusSomeGuy (already forgot your name LOL)
4. Get a fullsize spare that matches the current set up: picked up a new 33" mud tire and mounted it under the bed
5. Tint windows: Not done
6. Uniball upper arms, probably 'burg ones: Not done
7. Mount jack/nitro bottle in the bed: Not done
I picked up a small compressor from HF that runs off the cig lighter, it was enough to pump up my tank. Picked up a powdercoated MagLite mount from JusSumGuy and put it in the rear driver side door.
Definitely mashed on it during the 1000 and it took it just fine. Hopped on course from Puertocitos to Cocos and had some fun. Thought I was going at a decent pace, saw some HIDs in the mirror, pulled over for 2 minutes and the winning 11 booked it by us LOL. Also had to hop around MM1000 and run a spare to our truck. They got stuck in the silt, paid a local 20 for a tug and got their spare and ratchet strap stolen LOL. Heres a pic sitting at Ojos watching the TTs, 1s, 10s, and 12s rolling by. Big thanks to Justin at DN for building me a badass rack. I just came in with an idea and he killed it, always get a bunch of compliments on it every time Im at a race. Although I dont like the fact that having a rack I get loaded down with the most spares etc and become "Chase 1" every damn race LOL.
Looks like you had a good time at the 1k. How did the truck do? I haven't talked to Jason to find out how your guys race went.

Truck rolled north of Loreto right after the silt bed deviation. Replaced an upper hammered uniball on the Loreto dump road. Replaced upper and lower uniballs and the lower cup at 950. I think we ended up like 5 minutes out of 3rd. Not bad for having a lot of down time. All the 7SX trucks finished too for the first time in a while.
nice! Not a bad roll then I would assume?

UNICAT® - going there is half the fun
After using one chasing around San Felipe the past few weekends, I knew I had to have one of these. Lowrance XOG GPS with the ORW chase map overlay in Mexico that has all the access roads, Pemex stations, and you can upload the entire course map onto it. Hopefully gonna mount up a jack permanately along with a shovel before this weekend.
Guess the pic isnt uploading, Ill try later.
