Default DD / Chase Truck "Build"

Bought this truck from HB Ford back in late August and Ive been chipping away at it a lot lately and finally figured it was worth posting up.

DO NOT go to HB Ford!!! They completely fucked me over on getting a bedliner and some touch up work done on the hood. If you want the full story PM me or search and youll find it. Theyve done the same thing to many people and have even been caught selling salvage title vehicles. Fuck that place.

So heres how it looked when I bought it. 2004 FX4 with all the bells and whistles, 5.4 yada yada.

Took off the running boards and couldnt even sell them listed on LA Craigslist, worthless.

Got some bolt in COs from SAW that worked awesome right out the box rompin around Parker. No pics yet...

Took the truck to Dezert Nation and got the chase rack built. It can hold anything from my skinny Yoko buggy fronts to a 39" Baja. Has two bass boat seats and an umbrella mount. Only thing I forgot was a bottle opener.

After that I added some black ProComp wheels to go along with the "stormtrooper" look with 33" Yokohama Geolander ATs. No pics yet...

Then yesterday I picked up a KC lightbar from some dude in Long Beach by luck. Googled it and the first thing that came up was his Craigslist ad and picked it up for a steal. Added two Hella HIDs Ive had laying around forever today and wired them up. No pics installed again but heres the lights...

Also mounted my Icom radio under the dash and wired it into the battery instead of running off the cig lighter plug.

Right now the chase rack is at Embee being powdercoated before San Flippy's salty air could get to it.

Only thing Im thinking about adding over the summer is a pair of uniball uppers from the 'burg.

Ill have pics of everything tomorrow hopefully since its raining so you can see everything.

On backorder at West Marine just like the seats were since I always seem to chase the Pacific side of Baja... LOL

Ill try and get some pics before I head to San Felipe for everyone. I get the rack back from Embee tomorrow so Ill try to get a few before I go to work and post them up.

KC light bar with Hella internal ballast HIDs:

    Front view:

    SAW bolt ins:

ProComp wheels and 285 (~33") Yokohama meats:

    Chase rack back from Embee:

Two bass boats mount on the small capped tubes sticking vertically. I think I beat GFO Carlos because mine can swivel while his are bolted in and cant move. Umbrella pole sits in the tube in the middle:

Icom mounted up under the dash:

Im over racing, I just wanna have the siiiickest chase truck around LOL.

I was screwed over by Team Ford in Las Vegas. Anyone reading this, beware. They screwed me over on my bead liner and alarm. Dodged my calls and e-mails. I know of 2 other people that complained about bedliners... hmmm its like they all know they can get away with this?
But either way, your truck looks great!

SAW has some rear replacements in the works. If anything Im going to put some uniball uppers on the front, probably during the summer.

Similar story here. Dodged calls, no call back, no email response, "lost" paperwork. Thanks for the complement though!

Awesome truck! I have an '07 FX4 and am working on building it the same way. I really like yours, keep it up!

And I too was screwed by HB Ford, but I think I can top yours. I went in there looking at an '04, liked it, so we started talking numbers. I ended up walking out over a bed liner, they flat refused. They lost the sale over a couple hundred bucks and I ended up buying a brand new truck at Ken Grody. Anyway, a few weeks after dealing with them I get a phone call from my credit card company about some fraudulent charges. Turns out that who ever ran my credit at HB Ford took the credit report and ran up a bunch of charges for pizza and hair salons (like over a grand) in HB on a credit card that I hadn't used in four years. The only way that number could have gotten out was on the credit report. Bunch of thieves at HB Ford.

They must really hate giving away bedliners to make a sale, or they just promise them and dont deliver. What I heard was that they used to be a part of the Power Automotive dealio and got dropped because of their shitty customer service etc etc about 4 years ago and its gotten worse and worse.

I'd rather import (my girl is from Temecula) than try and impress these high maintenance, brain dead, gold digging whores from OC

I'm sure there are some good ones out there but from what I saw around here I ended up going to other towns when looking for a girl.

Haha yes I was. Watched the TTs and 1s through there then jammed over to the top of Laguna Salada/Diablo Dry Lake. After our car came through went down off of Puertocitos.

Kind of answered it already but Ive got more of an order for things now:
    0. Detail it up because its been abused for the last few months.
    1. Wire dust light and label switches on dash
    2. Mount extinguisher in cab
    3. Mount Maglight in cab
    4. Get a fullsize spare that matches the current set up
    5. Tint windows
    6. Uniball upper arms, probably 'burg ones
    7. Mount jack/nitro bottle in the bed
