Thread: GFO Chase F150 aka "Roxanne"

So I figured it was time I started a build thread on this since its going onto the next big step. When I first got the truck, it was my DD/ tow vehicle and over the years she has proven herself time and time again.

This is what she looked like when i first got her


Out of all the cars ive owned (1 chevy Z71 and 4 Mustang's), i've grown very attached to this truck and decided im proly gona keep this one for a looong time. After a few years of research I decided to make her a little more offroad capable.

A vid someone made that has Shayne (Go4Dirt) and my truck in it. Were at 0:35 going up Olds Hill



Repainted the bumpers and bedcage and mounted some seats in the bed for when i go to races. Now i can spectate comfortably

After a close call at the Barstow/ Slash X Poker Run i decided to "Drop the Hammer" and put a cage in for safety sake. Its gona be mostly 2" DOM with 1 3/4" and were shooting to make it a 4 seater. Hope to have it done by the begining of June.

Thanx guys. I dont plan on linking it soon but the cage will be set up so i can build off it later if i decide to back half it. But I think the next step will be a spring under set up and a 9". Danny and I will be hammering down on it thurs night til sunday so hit me up Mikey if you wana cruz by.

this thing looks bad!. My uncle has a 97 4x4 that he will let me have for real cheap. this gives me hope! haha

Looks great! It's going to be race worthy before you know it. Those seats in the bed cage are a great idea!

Thanx guys. These trucks really do have great potential. The 5.4 with simple bolt ons has great power. The other weekend in Bartsow i was easily able to push the truck to 85mph over some decent sized whoops even with the Dixon Kit and bolt on deavers in the rear. Thats partially why a cage is the next step. Im going with 2" tubing just incase i ever do want to do a race in the truck. At the very least maybe do BAP 2011, thats if there is even gona be one.

i wasnt talking about "the" bed cage, i was talking about "that" bed cage. but it was just a long standing joke i have with los and seth and now yer making the thread real dumb, so just drop it.

Haha yes Matt we did replicate your bedcage idea, and its work pretty damn good so far. And the best part about it is i can take it out and sell it when i back half it! lol. as for the Glamis vid i did have it in 4high. It was in first gear the whole time and made it up no problem even with the 37's. Shayne started a little slower then i did but was in 4low. He did it with ease. Thanx for the comments guys. Ive been meaning to make a build thread for a long time, just never got around to it on here. I cant to get workin it again. Need to get my hands on some plate next for the frame.

Its about time you cage it with the way you drive. Have you thought about running a bench seat in the back?

He was, I would know, I was in the back seat.

Thats what helmets are for
Buckets would defiantly be safer and more comfortable when you were really romping but the bench would be nice for packing more than 4 people in the truck when needed.

Some updates from this weekend. Window guy was able to remove the windshield with out breaking it, painted the inside of the cab back, and got some tubes thrown in.











Thats all I have for now. Hope to make some more progress this week.
