we reworked a couple things to fix some of the problems with lowering the ride height spindle/upperarm the last issue im having is locating the bump without sitting on it and ruining the ride on the street i going to try and see if i can get away with running the bump like mike sugg. if not my only option is tocut off the shock towers i origanlly wanted and go with a full engine cage that will allow me to run the bump to the upper arm and land right where i need to
no the main issue is your kit isnt designed to sit that low. and there is nuthing you can do correctly to make it sit lower without sacrificing something.
to get it to sit that low you need to thread your heims out alot! to push the top of the spindle back from being negitive. either move your towers up or run a lighter spring. but you also need to take into account the geometry will change alot.
moral of the story is it isnt as easy as you think

Moral of the story is you're fucked.
Get rid of the bumps. If those shocks you swear by actually work then you're not gonna need those bumps.

lol you guys are awesome thanks for all the possitive responces...anything is possible with time money and energy.
i know what im going to do im going to build another kit and park it never drive it and then have it all redone
dude i tried telling you from the get go that your janky ass kit wasnt going to work properly and the issues that i had with mine and you were supppper stubborn.
yah anything is possible like buying the right kit and having it properly installed BY A PROFESSIONAL...
1. step one sell the kit to someone who has nothing and they will be happy with the upgrade
2. with some of your tax return Buy the kibbe tech kit that you are trying so hard to copy the stance of
3. get the kit and enjoy the benifits of a kit that is designed on a computer and proven
4. by then we will stop talking shit (even though we are correct)

OR just run what you got and don't let all these cock suckers bring you down.
But yes I agree that bump need to be relocated to either strike the upper uniball area on the upper arm or back down to the lower but farther out.
Oh and if they aren't Kings Bro they aren't gonna work just as Dirt E

did you even bother reading that he wants to lower the front 4inches.... to the kibbe tech short course look... didnt think so... so what will give him what 2 maybe 3inches of up travel and a whole shit load of neg camber because there isnt enough threads on the heim to counter how neg it will make it. let alone that will put him into the bump zone of his bypass unless he cuts the towers makes them alot taller and makes a new upper...
any shock will work

no prob all figured out thanks to mikes reff. i can land the bump almost inline with my shocks on the lower arm and have still have clearance at ride hieght just need to pick up some more steel to finish tomorrow. just a lil farther out than i thought was acceptable but better than redoing my shock towers
Oh course I read it, Let him do what we wants. He'll figure out with a quickness 5 inches of up travel isn't gonna work for him and go back to how it was before, but in the mean time he will fix his bump stop location and his truck will be better than ever in due time.
Danks, tall trucks work well in the desert, I always set my trucks up with around 8-10 inches of up travel in the front and rear. But do what you want with your truck. After all it is your time and money you are investing.

i have that with my trucks that sit low....![]()

Right on! I don't like dragging in the two track personally, it hurts my back.
I set my trucks/buggys up with minimum of 8" of ground clearance from tire to tire at the lowest spot, which was under the rad arm mount on my old ranger.

My buggy now, I am not a hundred 100% positive what the bump numbers are but they are too low, it drags ass on really hard hits. I do have some larger tires (33x10.50 bajas) for it though.
Hope my advise steers you in the right direction danks.

im right there with mikey. i caved in numerous skid plates from my truck being to low. i know own a monster truck and ive still bottomed my skid plate out a few times but it is very rare now. i measure earlier and i have roughly 8" of travel before i even hit my air bumps and i have about 6" of ground clearance at full bump.
Im about the same numbers as you 84 prerunner, 9 inches of up travel and about 5 inches of ground clearence without a lift spindle. But I have to run 35's to get that kind of clearence. Keep your stance tall dank, unless your a flatbilled dgafing bro who's truck is a street queen. Then lower that shit and set it on the bump and call it a day.
A lot of people say my truck sits too high. I was out on a run with about 6 other trucks in Barstow a few months back and 3 of them were short course low. I rode in two of them in the whoops and it was fucking miserable. I took them for a ride in mine and it was night and day. Thats not including the fact that my shocks still need to be dialed in. I understand lower=better handling but I like the confidence of the extra bump travel in the rough. To each their own I suppose.

had all of the trucks out in deep two track and none scraped or bottmed out at all on the crossmembers... and hey if there dragging on the two track then the center section on the rear diff is too...
set your truck up however you want doesnt matter at all to me. to each there own. i build them how i like them and it seams to be working out just fine. Ride in one of my trucks i built and it would surprise you...

How much ground clearance do they have at full bump? i dont see how you could push it hard and not scrape sitting that low. i have practically a monster truck and will still scrape if i push it really hard.[/QUOTE]
they have about 4.5'' clearance at bump. we had the blue truck up to 100+ from rockpile down to the lake bed, i would say thats pushing it hard and it never scraped... we drove it for 5hrs straight through everything and never had 1 scrape underneath besides bushes.

If i remember right (been a year+ since ive run that section) the 2 track isnt all the deep there. 100+ sounds a little inflated though, GPS speed? guess this is enough derailing this thread haha
So now it's 110? I thought it was 90 at first?
I think the Titan was 90

Im really happy with the ride height, had to re work alot from when i first got her back from BBR. bump stops are finally in thanks to chris at foa sending me some new end caps with shreaders for freeee haha. kinda messed them up with all the changes put some new fox blue oil in there while i was at it. shackles are in i traded for a sub box and amp from another dr member and the rear is doing way better but now my parking brake cable is wearing my stock tank pritty bad wonder if anyone else is having that problem. new camburg hubs and slotted rotors fit so bomb and one less thing to worry about. built a lil jack skid after lugging my 3ton one around at plaster i just had to.
