Thought I would put up some pics of what was just done on my truck. The first two pics are of the truck when I got it, the third is the CRAP fabtech radius arms that were on it. the rest are all the new stuff. Fabtech beams with Heims in the pivot ends. Total track width with my zero offset wheels is 78 Inches.

New Radius arms, Trans crossmember and 4.88 gears.

Sorry no Strap or bump pictures, he had it together before I could snap some. the truck drives great (better then It ever has, due to the caster being correct) Still need a rear bumper and some bump stops, then we can start on doing the chevy spring swap and Some better rear shocks. Let me know what you think. Obviously its not gonna be easy to ever pull the trans but It just got a new clutch so hopefully ill be good for awhile. All heims use pinch bolts and he Beefed up the mounts with plating and drilled the holes out for bigger bolts.

he told me it would be different, now I believe him. lol. It sure as hell is strong tho. all Chromoly tubing and race style adapters. I wanted to be different guess I got what I asked for, lol. It only has 4 degrees of caster change tho throughout the travel which is better then the 8-9 it had before!!

Thought I would post up a pic or two showing truly how high up the arms mount, the crossmember sits 1/4 inch lower then the factory crossmember and the arms mount 1 inch higher then the old fabtech mounts.

Just got back from a Little desert fun tonight, I was anxious and Although I spent 2 hours washing it I said screw it and went to have some fun. All I gotta say Is DAMN do I need some weight in the back or better rear suspension. The front WORKS (still gotta fine tune the dual rates tho) but the rear bucks and kicks almost like its too stiff (stock location fox's and fabtech springs, no blocks. stock shackle location and mount)...... I know the shocks are too long but also too short, they dont extend far enough to allow full droop and they dont collapse far enough to meet the springs potential.

Whats next guys? shocks and bedcage with spare tire carrier using my fabtech springs or just do it all at once?

Here is the pictures of the springs, FTS270A is whats stamped on them. Are they decent or just cheap lift springs?

Kinda lost on what to do next, 64 inch springs with some nice smooth bodies or just run these springs with some better shocks that allow the full use of the suspension. I want to do it right the first time but finances wont allow much.

You're one of the first. Do you have any pics of it jacked up to show the droop in the front? The jump pic is a little too far away.

I believe its inland driveline that carries the poly urethane carrier bearing that will last a hell of a lot longer. Might want to check that out

Big Changes in the works. Got some 16 Inch 2.5 inch Coilovers for the Rear. Gonna run them without springs on the rear for now with the leafs until the Pile gets 3 linked.

Also Did single swing steering. The BEST thing I have done so far. Steers like its on rails now and no more wearing out the Front Right tire.

Too bad we had to modify it. WE cut a notch out of it to clear the radiator hose and then re-boxed it in. Looks like nobody every modified it. everything clears (drivers side tie rod is tight but gotta make some rubber sleeves for the heims) overall it helped the truck a bunch, near zero bump steer and no BRO lift when you turn left. HAHA

    Thumbs up

Very clean DD wouldn't mind having it but knowing me I would have to go the full distance to make it a money pit race truck. Nice job on it. O and can you post some pics on the way you mounted the front bumper, trying to find some ideas.

how can you in one sentence say you would build this truck into a full blown race truck if you had it, which requires a lot of skill and know how, and then in the next sentence ask how to mount a bumber?

Mounted the front bumper to the stock bolt holes on the inside of the frame. its two bolts per side and then we also put a few 1 inch beads on it.

Because My friend wants one for his daily driver and wants it cheap and simple and mine is super diferent with prototype mechinism for steering that is desighned specificly for HEAVY off-road use and I just want some ideas to produce some for my company that I am planning on building. So ya I can use it in the same sentence because even if you know it one way you can alwas learn it another or have ideas for a new design to IMPROVE ya know.

---------- Post added at 02:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 PM ----------

And mine is also tig welded and not bolted.

I you plan on having a company shouldn't you be able to figure out how to bolt on a tube bumper? Also can you explain what kind of steering mechanisms are mounted on your bumper for "heavy" offroad use?

Did you fricken not read what I had said about there can always be improvements and another way to learn how to do something, dont you think it would be crucial to have the best or at least try to have the best product if you have a company or are starting a company. There can always been improvements I am trying to improve I know how and I have ideas that some people dont think about as for the same of others. I cn ramle on and on about that. And also the steering thing I am building is to reduce or take the strain off of your truck and make it easier to drive. There are more feature that you will have to think about. it is kinda simple yet complex in its own way. Now tell me you can build one thing and it will be the best all around for ever till time it self ends! How come all I did was post one thing and now I feel like I have to defend my self.

And also maybe I dont hav that type of truck or have it yet and I plan on making them for others. I can always widen what I can do as for producing products.Think before you open your mouth. God I can say alot about what every onne of you just said.

Update time, Insurance company totaled it out after the hood flew open on me driving down the freeway. Messed up the cowl and hood and hinges. SOOOOOO.... I settled for a pretty decent check and im going to finish the front (bump stops), and Get started on the rear.
4 new tires, Kartek drop hangers and kel fab shackles are first on the list along with some nice 14 Inch 2.5 Smooth bodies from ADS here in town. Bedcage will be the same as a Buddy of mine. I got a used hood and some 6 inch glass fenders for up front but its all black so away with the clean little DD prerunner that it used to be (unless I can find someone who will paint the stuff for me without bending me over)

Still unsure of if i want to mount up these 64 inch springs My buddy has now or If I want to stick with the Fabtech rear springs and see how those work first.
