Thread: My First Ranger

Okay so Im new to the whole offroad thing and learning a lot off this site, any positive criticism appreciated, not too sure how everyone uploads the pictures so that theyre big but i figured out how to do it this way

My ranger when I first bought it


then I bought some beams off of another member on here



put the beams on with some help from friends





fiberglass I picked up off of a friend



then finally got rims and tires



then ive done a couple other little things like flipping shackles and stuff but heres how it sits right now



i picked up a giant engine cage and oredered coilovers from king so just waiting on those to come in, and have to weld on shock tabs onto the beams

Great start and a nice lil truck. Get some deavers and a simple bedcage and you'll be set!

Thanks man, and yeah that's my plan I wanna play around and try building a bedcage myself with spare tire carriers and everything, I have access to all the materials and tools so im gonna play around with it

forgot to say that in the rear when i was flipping the shackles i put in some rancho shocks I had laying around, i figured that they would be bettrer than the stock reflexes
and I also picked up an 8.8 off a friend with 4:88s

Coilovers came in, engine cage is mounted just waiting to mount some shock tabs to my beams

your tags are out. haha. but nice start on a nice little truck.

Haha its non op'd right now I took it and got it slogged last week and I get my license back friday so im gonna register it then too

took the ranger out to pismo friday night and saturday, handled awesome and i managed to walk away with only a broken back window....

Damn you must have some good friends that ripped off and put on your new beams all in one day while it was pooring rain ! And than the hot neighbor girl nicole came over and i was trying to get it in... she wasnt down for sex in the bed of your ranger.. mabey because it was just a coil bucket set up, now that you have a nice set of C/O's up front il try for round 2 ! hahah we needa throw the chevys on the rear and youll feel such a big difference man

She moved away so no luck for blake! Bahahahahaha

And we need to do something for the rear but first i reallyt wanna get that car in driveway running so I have something to drive while working on the ranger...

And btw the T in that last sentence is silent

Haha the quite guy at my work today asked me why my truck sounded like it was pissed off, I must be doing something right!

I'm working on building my first 95 ranger as well. I'm hoping to get new beams/arms later this month as well as some fox 2.5 X 12 coilovers. I guess my main question is what steering modification will need to be done. Sorry, I'm really new to this kind of stuff haha

Take your stock steering adjusters off,cut it in half and move it out as far as you need to and use a piece of 1 1/4 tuneing sleeved over between the two. BAM! your done with steering... For now

I'm not sure about the trannnys for trucks but summit racing usually carries rebuild kits id check there and what do you mean by TC?

It's really not as bad as you might think. Try living in the mid west. You'll go running back to the poke

Yeah its not too bad here, I'm military so I've spent some time on the east coast and stuff and way rather be here haha

Ya, I tried to move back when I got out, but my wife couldn't find a job. Where I'm at though at least every one speaks English and I dont have to worry about my stuff getting stolen

haha yeah that tends to be a problem around here! I've gotten used to it over the years though
