    Default 1975 dodge w100

So, after getting rid of my Ranger (and regretting it) i decided to make something out of what i had. I love going to the desert, and offroading in general. Having a 4wd gives me a lot more options on where i can go since i live 45 mins from the mountains, 2 hours from pismo, and about 2 1/2 hours from the desert. I plan on making this truck an all around wheeler. I've been working on it for a few months now and have gotten a lot of inspiration from this forum. I have tons of plans for it and will post up as much as possible. Thanks for checkin it out!

    1975 DODGE pickup
Mild built 360 (flat tops, 270 comp cam, edelbrock performer intake, 625 carter carb, headman headers, 3 inch exhaust, 2 dual chamber flowmasters)
    dana 44 front, NP203, 9.25 rear

and this is what im working with...

The day i picked it up. It was pretty damn hammered.

I took it home and just started taking everything off that i didnt want on it. im really working from the inside out on this truck.

This is how it sits today

I started by ripping everything out of the cab, cleaned it up and put it all back in. I went to a local junkyard and pulled a new dash. Also found a Flex-a-lite fan that i paid 5 bucks for from the same truck i took the dash out of.

Then i ripped out all the old gauges and installed a set of equus gauges, autometer tach with shift light, stereo system, and a 3 switch panel. Also mounted my tomtom where the stock speedo was because it didnt work.

The inserts are made from 1/16 inch steel

Mounted up the fire extinguisher i picked up at harbor freight for around 10 bucks.

Column shifting just doesnt cut it. I installed the B&M megashifter. I had a new tranny put in so it makes me feel a little better having this shifter.

For now, to lift it only about an inch i made some 3/4 inch longer then stock shackles, put in new center pins and some 6 degree axle shims.

Well thats about all i have right now. Ive done a lot of other odds and ends but not worth posting. ill keep posting as i go. let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

Trucks looking good dude. Whats the reasoning for getting the same body style? You want to keep the other one pretty?

That's all one truck, although it might not look like it after the work he's put into it

Good luck with build. It's nice to see a "different" (Ranger, Tacoma, Silverado, F-150) style truck built into an off road beasts.

Actually the white 89 is mine also. The other vehicle ive posted up in other threads is my brothers grand cherokee.

Tony, ive spent so much time and money on that truck, hours and hours detailing and cleaning, its just not worth it to me. i will continue to show it and collect trophies lol. I will take it to the coast but thats about it, which is the reason for building this truck. these old trucks are tanks.

Yeah you do need a truck you can take out and bash on. It looks like you take your time and get creative, when I first heard you traded the ranger for the blue one I was like wtf but its looking good and you made me a fan of that bodystyle dodge.

I still get people telling my i'm an idiot for trading it (by the first pics i posted i'm sure i'll continue to hear it lol). But most people don't see things like i do. I get a vision in my head and go with it (or at least try to). My ranger was a cool and fun truck, but did you see it before i got it? Holy hell it was hammered! Plus i love the option of 4wd.

I think i saw it when it was silver and I know what you mean 4wd is nice to have when needed. The ranger was pretty badass but you never see built dodges. The cover truck of off road is sick! what are the plans for this one.

Then get the new wheels and soon to come tires mounted up, remove the rear bumper, a couple hella lights behind the grille, HID's, dust light, cb installed, bolt in the 2 ammo cans i have sitting around, 4 inch springs up front, new shocks and steering stabilizer, truss the front axle, some sort of front bumper, pulling points front and rear, race buckets, the list goes on lol.

Same thing mine has. Keep an eye on the joints in the front axle, the stub shafts are next to impossible to get, the joints are only like 10 bucks from autozone Part # 1-0297DL

Yeah when I got my 77 w100 it had a blown up stub shaft, so I went on the hunt to find one and found 2 in canada, dude wanted $350 EACH!! So I welded the cap in on the side thats was shot.

maybe mount it under the bed near the rear and have the filler flush with the floor of the bed with a nice skid underneath.

Exactly what i was thinking. I wonder if it would hang down too low tho? I also had a cool idea of counter sinking my ammo cans, almost flush with the bed floor (just enough room for the lid to open and close). Id like the keep the bed open and useful as possible.

Do you have any pics of dodge?

Awesome truck! Yea I was looking at it this morning, there should be enough room. I plan on throwing in the ammo cans and possibly my cb in the cab. Still debating on an antenna to run. I eventually want to get a race radio and don't really was 2 big ass antennas on the roof. Also gonna try and get my hands on some tires to mount up on my new wheels.

I actually just rattle can painted it. The bottom and roof are a regular krylon gray primer, and the blue is krylon satin Oxford blue.
That's what it looks like when it's cleaned up

This is the 3rd vehicle I have had it on, my 1st and 2nd vehicles were DD's on the highway everyday at 55+, only knocked it over once when I went under a tree that was 6 inches above my roof, other than that I have never had it knock down.

Well I picked up a tire from a buddy of mine so now I can get back on track and continue driving it until my new tires come in. I had some extra metal layin around so I decided to fill in all the vents and controls where all the aftermaket ac stuff was that someone had installed. I was getting alot of hot air coming in through the vents.

Let me know how you like those, I have been eyeing up a few different tires and that is one of the ones I am looking at, the ones currently on my truck are from 1995. LOL and still hold air. (scary)
