i see a bunch of tack welds when setting up your kit do you have anything with finished weld and product of the truck
nevermind im a idiot and just answered my own question... looks like you got some good welding out of that shop
I vote 15's on the rims. 17s look too big.
thanks i did alot of the welding minus the actual beams, those are all tig welded and im not very good at tig.... im still lookin for 15" alcoas, just no money i would rather finish my steering, and yes its a really tight fit prob gonna have to mill down some misaligns we will see in about a month or two......
Trucks lookin real niicceee!

hmm you maybe right im gonna go by baja shop tomorrow and talk to AJ about how we are going to mount the swingers and see if it is all going to work out ok..... you guys are starting to make me wonder why it maybe TOO FAR forward.... on another not i believe someone asked about the intake setup, quite simple actually, only hard part was making the adapter plate for the mass air flow.... the tubing is stainless 3" exhaust just cut to fit, the rubber hose is 3"...one straight and one 45... the clamps on the thottle body side are off a superduty turbo intercooler..... and yes i need to get a bigger filter...oh had to cut fan shroud a little to clear tubing....here are some pics...

well went by baja shop today and AJ just happened to have his old race truck there and i went and measured everything and came to find that my beams are just under a 1/4" more forward than his were soooo.... the setup is right and the only problem we may have is where one the tubes lands on the side of the frame to mount one of the steering swingers but i dont think thats going to be much work.... just cut and make a new one, easy as that...

Nice rig, I have seen you around Riverside a few times and really dig the overall look! Are you already 5x5.5 bolt pattern, or planning to switch up so you can run the Bronco Alcoas?

no shit.... nice what are u doin there. im runnin their coilovers on my truck.
any pix of it at bump?
Moores Metal Works
no pics at bump but if you look at my very first post and 5th pic to the right i have an arrow with the word bump written on the frame..... the front of the beam lands right there, hope that helps. why do u ask?
just seems it may get close to steering arm/box....hard to tell tho. nice lookin beams

Thanks and yeah ur right its pretty close, I'm going to be moving my box about 2" forward when I do the swingers or maybe putting a big bend in the rod that comes off the pitman when I go to do the steering set up... Don't really know till I get to that point
I moved my shackles back like yours. rides much nicer and works much better. thanks for answering my questions.
do you have any side shots of before and after the shackle flip?
i dig the alcoas. that color would look sweet with the truck black.
ahh thanks... told some friends i was doing that color and they all laughed... now they like it. im gonna get bedsides and paint the truck the same color but thats the least of my worries i wanna at least finish suspension before i start spending money on paint and shit.
Nice Truck i always see you around the La sierra area.
so i got the new trans mount/crossmember in today and noticed that the cab vibrates more... even at idle, im thinking this is normal?? cause its basically solid mounted now. almost feels as though the exhaust is hitting on body somewhere but everything is totally clear. any input would be helpful? thanks

I was gonna say, if you have that practically solid mounted trans you better get the same for the motor if you dont already. Ive been following this build, its coming along very nice!

making some solid mounts within about a week or two i wont be driving the truck that much. i have a baby boy on the way, he was due on the 26th so any time now and i know i wont be going to work so the truck wont need to be driven... is this normal... that it vibrates through the cab like that?
I had poly mounts all throughout my Jeepspeed and yes, unless its rubber its going to vibrate. Shouldnt feel like a worn ujoint but will be considerable worse than stock rubber.

yeah the trans mount has a poly bushing and im making the motor mounts with poly bushings...."round" poly bushings. i have some techs that are telling me im going to crack my frame and stuff??? but then again they haven't really built any race vehicles or vehicles that are being built to the extent that mine is. thanks for the input
bushing motor moutns wont make your chances of frame cracks any higher. you need to get the motor mount done though, ive seen rangers crack there transmission from running stock motor mounts with a bushing trans mount.
damn that would suck.... better get going on them motor mounts then thanks for the heads up
nice mounts...wanna make me a set?haha i liked the methods though personally. still looks good though
Ass, grass, or gas, no one rides for free
yeah the mounts are sweet they are only $85 from ruff stuff specialties... but they came unwelded... i tigged them, oh and thats only the motor part of it they sell i had to make the frame part but was pretty easy... and yeah sometimes i do miss the methods but my wheels are about 27 pounds less per... thats even with the projects
Do you have anymore pictures of your engine cage?

so i finally go my cross over steering done last weekend... i will post some pics up tomorrow... wondering if i could get some input from some of u that have done cross over set ups... my steering feels quite a bit stiffer, harder to turn and i lost a little bit of turning radius... do i need a bigger box or maybe even a better steering pump or maybe just put a smaller pulley on the stock pump with longer belt... any input would be greatly appriciated, thanks
