Started this build with a pair of 10" King coil-overs and bypasses, a Bug shell, a tittle, a motor to use as a core, CNC brakes, Bilsteins for the rear, a screaming deal on a Jeff Fields trans, and a good excuse to finally build my fixture table. Somehow I now have a Ranger on jackstands in the garage, WTF?
Mikey, the king of changing his mind about what vehicle he wants, offered me his Ranger for a screaming deal, and I don't really have time to do a full build right now anyway, so I ended up picking it up. Here's what he did to it The Not So Mini - Mini Reserection
I brought some of this
and left with a Ranger
Didn't run, so we nerfed it onto the driveway where it sat while I finished the Toyotally Awesome pick-up
Got it in the garage the other day and started tearing it down
After some thinking and some drinking, decided the BTF built bed-cage wasn't going to work for what I had planned on this truck. So I un-welded it
Got all the stock cross-members cut out and the frame cleaned up
Started throwing tubes at it again
Picked up my buddy josh's dash, wiring harness and motor out of his Ranger that he's parting out (anybody who need Plank MS kingpin beams, let me know), the dash is going to get heavily reworked to give me room for a couple more gauges, race radio and intercomm, 7" GPS and if it fits, a glove-box.
Plans beyond what i've got going on here are a complete re-wire, finish up some loose ends in the cage and engine compartment, a Mountaineer conversion clip if I can find the glass cheap enough, single swing steering, full tear-down prep, paint, and some other crap.
Lots more to some, stoked to finally be building something for myself again rather than just my endless list of projects for other people.
