    Default coil? o2 sensor?

i used to have the same truck... and have had similar issues. have you computer checked all the plug coils for each cylinder? misfire issue? and also do you have headers or anything... could just be a O2 sensor issue???

I few little things I have induced on my F150 that cause running problems were,

The wire for the MAF was not pushed all the way closed causing a check engine light and sputtering/running fat

I popped a fuse under the hood for the transmission that wouldn't allow the truck to move and it idled really rough.

If the plug on the Charcoal canister is not connected this will cause a rough idea or if the vetting is not right you will have issues

I am sure you have thought of all this but just thought I would help.

Thanks all of you for your input. I think I've narrowed it down. It is running rich, and I found out the code for it- P0179, which apparently is some fuel composition sensor, or something like that, which in Chevys, is for flex fuels, and isn't even used.

Still getting the kinks out of the truck! I've just been driving to work and back everyday to see if there are anymore problems like the catalytic converter. Also, I'd take some pics, but the fires have put a bunch of ash on it, and I want to get the rest painted before I take more pics.

    Default Updates

I haven't been able to work on it lately, I've just been to busy and burnt out on trying to fix it. It smogged perfectly with a stock intake setup, so we're figuring that it has something to do with all of the bends and the placement of the mass air flow sensor. The next thing I'm going to try is to get a Granatelli mass air flow sensor/housing for cold air intakes. It's calibrated differently, so hopefully this may solve the problem. Other than that, money is tight, so it may be up for sale.

Cool, I'll try that first. It was running correctly with a stock intake system, though.

Yes it has. They are so busy with COPS racing that they can't really do much else. Future plans are to link it and bigger motor. also patch up a few small problems with the front end
