    Default Titan Offroad's "New" Truck

Finally got cranking on the truck tonight after cutting it up the week after the 1000.

We did ALL of this today. Everything is 1 3/4 or 1 1/2 .120 wall 4130 and 4130 plate.

Tires, rims and rear end are just for mock up. Were going to run Kumho 35s or 37s on the new American Racing 17" Chamber beadlocks.

Camburg built the front end and is supplying the 3 link kit connected to a Currie 9 inch. Im sure Jerry etc. will chime in with more details and exact specs. Been a long night so heres some pictures.

More details about the truck will come soon.

We plan to race Class 8 in the 500 and the Baja Mil and then 1400 in whatever MDR races we can in between. Oh, and were shooting to have it race ready for the 500. Baja or Bust!

We made them from our old straps that were three points for flat spares.

This is the truck that the NCD front end was going on. We dont have another truck, right now anyways.

Basically we had a fresh prep and broke a spindle testing, thats all the 1000 was for us last year. So NCD and cutting the bed seemed like the way to go so that we could hit up the MORE race two weeks after and have fun. There were a number of factors that led to the decision, but chose to wait instead.

Dayum, looks like its turning out to be a killer build! Congrats, I have always wanted to see one of these Titans out there in the Desert tearing it up! I would run 37's as I believe all class 8's do, or at least the competitive ones. One last question, why such a small fuel cell? I would imagine you guys should be running in the 60+ gallon range...
very tragic, but my best wishes go out to his family, may he cross the big finish line in the sky and take the over all once and for all....

First, this Titan has been ripping up the desert for the past 2 years in Stock Full. We will run 35s for now, but will most likely run 37s in the future. The cell is 44 gallons and the only reason we are using it is because we already had it. We were gonna have a custom cell made but it is just way too much money. it will be Class 8 legal and we will just get a rear start and go for it, but it will mainly be a 1400 truck. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

    Ditto on the 37s.

Cell was at an unbeatable price. Its a 40 or 44, cant remember, either way we should get about 120 to 130 miles each tank which will work.

    Updates!

Dual battery box with max dimple dies. Cut the back of the cab to clearance the cell which fits snug with about 1/4 inch on either side. Fully plated the frame on both sides and got more triangulation done. Pic is blurry but the links are just as sexy as Scott’s! Tool boxes originally went behind both front seats, but were going to put them between both spares. That area will be boxed and they’re going be mounted inside, another tight fit. The lid will flip up and have the jack mounted on top.

    More updates.

Firewall bead rolled and almost there. Cheese grater dual battery box. Cell and coolers mounted. Tool box/contingency beer cooler nearly done. More tubes. Pic of our paddle shifter that works with the gate shifter on the 5 speed.

Were going to box in the rear section so all air from the cab will go through the coolers.

Our rear view mirror is going to be a rear facing camera with a 150 degree view thats gonna display on a 5 or 6 inch screen on the dash.

Paddle shifter has been on for a few months. Works awesome. We have the gate shifter too, so just depends on what the driver wants to use.

    New updates.

Just started mocking up the 4 link system, no more 3 link. 2.5 coilover and 3.0 triple bypasses from SAW. More paneling done than shown in the pictures including beadrolling every panel, but still a lot to go. Got the Currie 9 inch today. Going to mount the brake light LEDs in the glass, ambers between the tires in the panels.

Going to be some long nights trying to make the 500.

    Havent made much progress.

Got the rear CNCs mounted and finally got the pinion angle correct for the three link (3 to 4 and finally back to 3 ha). Other than that the firewall is pretty much done.
