oops, I don't think that was supposed to happen. What failed first, the missing heim or a mount?

killer truck. does the 4 wheel come in handy?
umm well that was an interesting one. we had to take the 7/8 heim off to get it outa the truck, it didnt break, if you notice the duct tape on the 1 1/4 heim, thats where the problem was, the bung stripped out and the rodend pulled out. we called up our chase trucks on the sat phone they rode in 120miles to pick up the centerlink rode it back to the trailer welded it and brought it back, 26 hours later the truck as back up and running, really killed the prerun.
yeah really nice to have, especialy cause mine can run all 24in off travel with out u-joint bind and its got a locker in the front and spooled in the back. during the baja 1000 prerun we ran almost 300miles with the truck in 4 high and didnt have a problem

rad! best of both worlds!

Either way, good luck Sean. I'll cheer you on no matter which class you race. I am a fan.

simon says your trucks kicks ass. i really like it
Motorsport can be dangerous and despite us taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen.
ive watched this thing on rdc as well. I love your truck, its become an inspiration for mine. V8, 4wd, LT, what more could you want for a baja prerunner?
hey when my motor is done we need to make a trip to the duneskis!

true dat, im getting close on the interior then want to take it out for a test. I am planning on having king shocks meet me at barstow for some susp. adjusting before i take it anywhere. but after that im down for the dunes.
just switched the gears from its 4.11s to 4.89s see how much faster she is now. lol
finished switching the rear from 4.11 detroit locker over to 4.89 spool today and got some interior work done.

This is a nice truck and looks like it rides really nice. I was wondering what transfercase are you running.
Someday I'll have the money to do the things I want to do...
its really to big for the truck but we designed the truck around it so it works fine. but would be hard to put into a truck that is already built
we pullet the trans outa my sisters truck after she lent it to a friend who recked it at pismo. it had a 150k miles on the trans when we put it in my truck, and had a bad sincro. if finaly blew after 3k of prerunning. broken teeth on input splines 3rd 5th and reverse.

Probably the borg 1365 or whatever It's really sweet how does the 4x4 do? Have you had to use it alot?

Crazy stuff...Sounds like you really drive the piss out of this thing
Someday I'll have the money to do the things I want to do...
well i never needed to use the 4x4 any other time, once i let my mom drive it during the 500 prerun and she stuck it in the silt when she missed a downshift from 2nd to 1st. at that point i still had the auto hubs on so she just pulled back the stick and took off outa her holes got up to speed and just threw it back into 2wheel. i sure miss my auto hubs i may switch back some day.
pointless i know but still cool

So the 500 was a nice test out for the new interior, its not done yet but its a huge improvement already, because i ran with the windows open cause the ac isnt finished yet i didnt notice that much of a sound differencee, but there was a huge temperature difference i used to have super hot floors cause i have the headers and exhaust right under your feet cause they are outside the frame rail. but now the floor stays cool the whole time, i had a bottle of water sitting between the seats that i pulled outa the icechest and 1 hour later i was still cold layin on the carpet. the tool box in the back seat worked out great, easy to get into. tools stayed where they were. and the icechest was perfect... put 1 bags of ice in there friday morning and 1 saturday and sunday night when we got home there was still ice and cold drinks. the lid is not strapped down yet but it stayed in place nice. Other then the bent wheel and spindle then lossing a coil I would say im happy with the work so far.
But now im needing to build new spindles and i keep wondering about building my own beams and spindles using uniballs instead of ball joints.
I think this stock spindle bent to easy, i wasnt going that fast. I dont just want to replace it with another stock one.
I got my guages in for my truck too...

started puttin the guages in the dash, still waiting for the 3 3/8 and 2 1/16th hole saws.
as she went to the 500.
back from the 500
I have decided i am gonna be using the blitzkrieg spindles, i didnt realize that the steering tabs wern't included, so the fact that my steering arm is longer doesnt matter, and i can use my stock hubs and rotors on it, just need new brakes..if i start having hub problems i will change them out later..
question about harness mounts. doesnt score have a spec for the angle of the belts, as they come off the mount, and go over the shoulder? are yours in spec? those mounts look pretty low. could just be the pic, since the seats arent mounted.

R.I.P. #7227!!!!
When they are mounted low like that they pull your body down, not back when in an accident. They compress your spine instead of holding it to your seat back. but anyway, truck looks bitchen. v8 and 4x4 must be sweeeeeet to have!

I've also read that if your seat is angled back a lot, it acceptable to mount your shoulder harnesses at a 90 degree angle to your torso. The other thing about mounting them low like that is that you have a lot of belt, the more belt, the more it will stretch in an accident.
And well, I am totally not trying to sound like a jackass or internet fabricator or anything, sorry if i do

my seats are angled back a ways... and i will look into figuring out how to attach it maybe to the roll cage thew the back of the cab? its hard to find a spot to mount them with having a 3rd seat in the back, does anyone have pics of some 3 seat rangers seat belts? My big issue is the roll cage is on the outside of the cab for the rear hoop.
