So the maiden voyage went quite well.
We loaded her up with all our shit to see if it could take enough stuff to camp over night on it's own. Back sagged down quite a bit from all the weight... but it worked!!
Drove 100 miles out to Ocotillo Wells. Drove it 200 miles in the dirt out there. All over down by superstition(wash under the rail road tracks), up fish creek, over to blowsands, devil slide, shell reef, etc. Let my lady drive it around a ton. Then we drove it to Salton Sea... and back up the S22 and a couple trails off that too. I didnt know the Blu Inn stopped selling gas!! That's why we ended up at Salton Sea. (had to go to that gigantic AMPM)
I 3 wheeled it pretty good once.... and stuffed the front in some silt. Had to stop from that because I couldnt see anything. Had to take a shirt and wipe off all the dust ont he windsheild. It was pretty freaky to black out the entire windsheild and just hope you're still going straight until you stopped!
I definitely have some tuning to do. I was blowing through the travel way too fast. Pounding on the front bumps.
I still haven't spun the collars down for cross over points yet. So gonna try that first.. but thinking i will still need more compression up front.
I definitely need to plug those holes that the tubework comes out of in the back. Shit was sucking dust right into the cab.
Otherwise it seems pretty good out of the box. Totally different truck than Ghetto1, that's for sure!
