Looking good! My engine cross member has been trimmed like a mofo to get my beams pushed forward. Still gonna have to trim the shit out of my firewall to get those 35 to clear on full bump and full lock.

GEEZ! I have never seen Threat's beams up close like that. Those are some immaculate welds.

I agree. After seeing a few examples of daves old work and his new stuff Its night and day and the old stuff was still very very good. Just goes to show you, not matter what, improvement always comes with time and practice. Great job Threat!

keep the updates rolling! great build so far.

Few more tizubes. Oh and had to get some more steel today. Fuck, shit just jumped up. Summit was out and Cal Mesa wanted 3.77/ft for 1.75 x.120 DOM. I only got 18 feet because of that. Summit called me back and said they are gonna be up around 3.70's as well on their next shipment. OUCH.

I'm not sure about them being standard length or what. Dave might have to chime in... or I can throw a tape on them later.

Here's my current dilemma though... I got one of my heims halfway threaded into the driver radius arm... and it's fucking stuck now!!! I feel like a complete retard... cuz I cant seem to get her out for the life of me!! It was threading in by hand nice.. then got a tiny bit tight.. then I tried to back it off and no bueno.

Now i can spin it a tiny bit either way... but it locks up if I try to go further. Not sure what to do cuz I dont wanna mess it up.

do you have any 1" tubing you can throw through the hole of the heim and use for some leverage?

I have been trying a 1" wrench and put it on the body of the heim.. had a big cheater tube and put the radius arm in my vice. I'm torquing so hard it's twisting outa my vice. I dont think my vice is secure enough.

seriously, either the wrench is gonna snap or the vice is. BUT, i shouldnt have to be torquing it that hard, right!!??

Also, i didnt think it would be a good idea to torque against the actual ball in the heim(basically against it's bind)... i mean seems like it wouldnt be a good for the joint, no?

NICE DAVE!!! But what happened to the second picture there boss!? Looks like i need to start saving some more $$$

    Updates:
Got some more plate work done and started randomnly welding some tubes. Finally got the heim I got stuck removed. That was a bummer, since it cost me a grip and I'll need a new heim. Oh well, live and learn.

And to top it off, I'm 90% sure I broke my 5th metatarsal in my foot when I tripped over some shit yesterday. Gonna get some X-rays. Feel like a retard.

Oh and she's topless now!! Here's a pic from my mom's iphone

PFFFT... like never! I figure I have another year or so at least. Looks like money is gonna be a big factor in completion date too. Damn sales are down right now.

Oh and I did indeed break my foot working on this thing. Avulsion fracture of the 5th metatarsal. Also appears there is a decent chip off the front of my tibia. Not sure if that is an old injury that was never noticed or if it was form this.. but they are sending me to an ortho. So, thinking the truck would get me away from the injuries just isnt happening! Shoulda stayed on the bikes... they're so much cheaper!! haha

And here's another pic my moms sent.

Hola bitches.. I got a camera for a few minutes so I snapped some pics.

Kevin tied the engine cage into the windsheild x-member at base of window tubes.

I got the passenger beam mounted and swinging. Check out how close it comes to the engine cross member... and also how I had to trim the tranny x-member/mount. I can actually get this beam to bump on the frame rail... but doubt that's gonna happen with the driver beam as it wont fit all the way up/thru the galley on the engine x-member. (I'll show you guys later)

You need to trim a little more off the engine crossmember later so you can push the front out even more. Also with that kit you don't need to notch the trans crossmember. The other side will not bump as far because the beam will hit the middle of the engine crossmember before it can hit the frame rail. When you set up your shocks bump it so there is an 1" gap between the top of the beam and the frame. I do make a custom trans crossmeber that is nice and beefy you know. You pretty hard on your trucks so I recommend you get one especially since this one is going to be faster haha! Truck is looking good!!!

Well sheeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I knew I shoulda showed you the pics before I drilled all those fucking holes!! It should be OK though, right? I mean how much further could it really go forward? As it is, it comes a cunt hair within 1/2" of the bolt on the driver beam bracket.

Not much I can do about the tranny x-member now. I was thinking of throwing some plate on it to beef it up.

Buuuut, go ahead and send me a quote on the tranny's member. That doesnt sound weird or anything. lol

Where you have it will be fine and is still further forward then most. You can just thread out the hiems after you get crossover steering. It can go atleast another 1/4". Doesn't sound like much but at the wheel it is about 3/4" more

Yea, I hear you on that. A small amount there equals a lot more at the beam end!!

Oh and mega retard question of the day. Do i clamp the pinch bolts on the bung when the heim is in the same vertical plane as the radius arm (like if it was off the truck) ... or do you have it clocked a tiny bit to match the plane of the pivot box??

Does that make sense? I havent confirmed it would make any difference on how it misaligns during cycling but i would think it would.

Busted out a hot n sweaty photo shoot.

    Jack mounted a while ago:

Cut out the inner fenders. Fucked up and nicked a single wire in the harness like a dumbass. Not sure what to do. Will post about that later i'm sure

Made some plate mounts for using a three piece (actually did this before removing inner fender)

Welded up almost all of the cab cage and started spraying some primer. Starting to build 18 guage sheet metal templates for filling all those holes. Gotta figure out a way to mount all that crap like clutch reservior, wiring harnesses, etc

Having Kevin build the lower floor tubes. next up for the cage is building seat mounts and door bars.

I'll see what I can do. I really haven't got much done lately. My buddy and I have been pretty busy and broke. AKA lazy and broke. LOL

I hate coming home when it's dark. Can't get motivated to do any work.

Did some tin work over the weekend so all holes thru front firewall have been patched.

Tried to relocate CPU but whoever told me I could move the CPU to the wiper area without cutting or extending wires was smoking the reefer. Unless I'm just dumb. When I looked at it, it seems like there's a couple wires that immediately won't reach. Oh and headlights and turn signal wires wont reach either as far as I can tell.

That was me ya douche. I said the cpu can be relocated, i never said every wire will reach, just the ones that are needed to run the truck.

Pretty sure it was the barge!! But maybe you too! Yea, I can see how it would work fine for a race truck, but I want to keep stock shiznit operational if possible.

No I haven't tried that, but I don't see how that would work. Mine is going up and actually hitting the wires on the computer . Pulled one of the pins out of the connector lol

Take a look at my computer in pictures above (3rd one above). You can see that the way it is stock.. the wires come out and point down.

If you flipped it over the wires would point up and you would get a lot more clearance, clarence. Obviously still not as ideal as relocating... but might work for you temporarily at least.
