Started out as my buddy Nick Thompsons truck, he bought it new in 2001. first thing we did was put the camburg 5.5, got axis simulated bead locks on BFG 33X12.50X15's, & cut & pulled the rear bedsides. about a year later he revvsss the hell out of it, drops the clutch & the rear end blows up, we went to the ford junkyard out in LA & found a 8.8 explorer rear end with 4.56's and threw that in. 2003 or 2004 we take it to glamis & get stuck in 3rd gear, we drove it all the way home in 3rd gear & made it about 1 mile from his house. thats when he ended up getting this crew cab silverado & he never drove it agian. his dad calls me up out of the blue & asks me if i want to buy it for $2500 & the first thing i said was "hahaha is the tranny fixed???" he said "ohh yeaaaa i just threw a new one in!" & he knew i needed a truck at the time so he hooked me up. couldnt thank him enough for the deal. about a year later when the motor hit 100k i have a rod go threw my oil pan on the 55 freeway doing 70, that was pretty funso i had a place in norco replace the 3.slow motor for $2300. brand new motor, i think it had a couple thousand miles on it. well since then as you can see i put some $$$ into it.
started by putting KarTek Pro Competition seats with sliders...& just recentley i bored out the stock seatbelt hole & put those polk 4.5's in there
a few weeks later i came across some Dixon bros spring plates that i bought from (HnM Expy) on here. orderd some threat shackles from Dave (87-RANGER) & then another few months rolled by & i came across a set of brand new national 9 pack leaf springs from another kid on here. went to deaver & picked me up some u bolts & installed everything.(the u bolts are painted now)
Then picked up some rear glassworks unlimited glass for real cheap cause the ranger was "rolled" that the glass was on, so i figured no big deal my grandpa could fix it for some brew. a few months later i realized Tim over at RRP lives less then 5 minutes from me so i went to him for a badass bedcage when i got the $. me & him threw our ideas together & came out with this...
since then ive just repaired the glass with my gramps. fixed passanger side glass & closed the gas door up. lightly sanded my bedcage, primerd & flat blacked it. & threw on newer ranger mirrors.
(passanger side glass before)
(passanger side glass after)
(gas door before)
(gas door after)
new mirrors & paint
in the next month i plan to have 16"bypasses for the rear, front Fiberwerx 3" glass, 8.8 Differential cover from Ruffstuff Specialties.
my next update will be over the weekend, Tim will be taking out my sliders & solid mounting my seats where ive been wanting them mounted, along with throwing a skid plate on the front.
