Default MF Build: '95 Tacoma 4x4

-TC kit up front with coil-overs/bypasses and MF spindle gussets.

-Full MF cage front-to-back. 1.75" main tubes with 1.5" supports, all DOM.

-The bed cage will leave space in the bed, as well as feature storage boxes built in near the cab. The cab cage will not exit at the top of the cab for a clean look. The spare will be mounted under neath the bed (as far as possible). The truck will run bypasses in the rear with 62s and MF shackles.

-The cab cage will be welded 360* and fit tightly. The stock dash will be put back in and there will be not V bars in the windshield.

Overall this truck will be a very clean and capable prerunner. If the rain holds out, I should have it all wrapped up in 2-3 weeks.

I'll post some more updates on Monday.

Dlab: I could not mock up the hoop if it were built out of a single piece. With it sleeved as is, I was able to fit the top portion, then build the tubes that connect to the frame. I even had to cut the roof off to get the hoop in there with all the tubes connected as they currently are.

terry: Yes the tires are 33s.

    Thanks for the comment everybody.

Quick question, why did you chop the roof off when you designed the b pillar to be able to be removed so it could be welded up, and have a sleave in it ? Keep in mind ive never chopped a roof before.

O btw I really like how tigh you got it in the cab are u going to do much plating to the cab?
    Im working on it

The B-pillar was made with a sleeve for 2 reasons:

    1. I have the cage fitting so tightly that it was not possible to get the rear halo in for mock up as one piece without cutting the roof off first, which I did not want to do.

    2. I have not worked with 1.75 for some time, so my bending skills with it were a little rusty.Doing it all in one shot probably would not have happened.

The roof had to be cut off to get the halo back in once I tacked the sleeve junctions into place. Even with the roof cut off, I had to force in back into place. I will be plating around the door, the B-pillar, and all around the floor.

I usually drill rosettes to 37/64", since I never have a need for that size bit, but now it's dull. So I moved up to 11/16" for the same reason. I don't like to wear out 1/2" or 5/8" bits that I frequently use when making tabs on something where the exact diameter is of no real concern.

I'll have more updates sometime this weekend.

Couldn't hurt to drill bigger holes to get a bigger weld surface, right?

    Thanks for the comments!

Eric: Yes I will have a tube that ties down to the frame. It's not straight up, but rather parallel to the shocks at full bump. It's already cut and notched, just waiting to get the bed cab on.

nmsilveradorunner: I will be building the shackles. I usually save it until last, since I have to tear everything down a final time.
