    Default 2004 Silverado Build

Hey guys. so here is my truck, i have posted many times about it. Its a 2004 chevy silverado 1500 single cab longbed. The truck was a basic work truck when i recieved it. so far on the truck i have...
4.3l v6- hypertech programmer, spintech dumped muffler, airraid intake
Sony headunit, 400 watt kicker amp, 1 12" RF P1 sub, pioneer speakers
Tinted windows, smoked tail lights, blacked out ambers/corners, black bowtie,
10,000K HID conversion, Led lisence plate light, Led interior lighting, Amber running lights, 2 Hella 500's, Cut bedsides, cst 4" boxed/fabricated lift spindles, 32" all terrains (285/75/16), stock wheels painted black, Fullsize spare in the bed(285/75), Cobra CB radio w/ 4' tunable antenna on billet mount. I think thats everything. In the future i want to get some different wheels, front glass, pull bedsides, and hopefully get some uniball uca's made and plate the lower arm and run some 8 inch coilovers and built a small engine cage and dump the coilbuckets. I am currently building a front bumper which is almost done, i have alll of the tubes cut, notched, plates cut, light tabs, everything is finished i just need to get it welded up. I want to run 3 or 4 lights on the front. I am 17 years old and i have owned the truck for about 11 months now. This is my daily driver and i dont have a steady job so i can only do things as i get money. Thanks for taking a look and if you dont have any positive feedback please dont reply to the thread. This truck is my pride and joy and i know it might not be anything amazing but im very happy with how its progressing. thanks guys.

The first few pics are of how it looked last june only slightly modded, and the last ones are of today so the last are most recent. the order of pics is the order that things progressed. enjoy.

its amazing how several less expensive things can make a truck look different. i really like the look of it with the blacked tails, tint, and the painted wheels.

whatd you use to paint your rims and smoke your tail lights? those are the next things on my list.

Yeah, totally agree, as long as the smaller/cheaper things are tastefully done and not over done... looks good, should get color matched or escalade handles and color match the mirrors when money permits

dude the handles and mirrors would look sick thats such a sweet idea. For the wheels and taillights. I used Rustoleum High performance enamel black paint for the wheels cause it comes out pretty smooth. i would reccomend clear coating them tho they chip kinda easy if you dont. You can do 2 things on the taillights. You can lightly mist them with black spray paint to the darkness of your liking and then clear coat them. Thats how they are done in the first picture. But i recieved tickets for them back then, so i stripped the paint off them, and used a special tint spray specifically for lights. The tint spray is like 28$ for 1 small can so its not cheap but it makes it really nice, the tintspray is what i have on the most recent pictures. PM me if you have any more ?'s about it. The blacked out ambers on the headlights are just black spray paint with clear coat. I hate saying how many things on my truck have spray paint on them, but i think it makes a nice look when its blacked out.

I thought about it. But I don't really have alot done to my truck so I would probably be better off selling it and buying one with a v8. You can get a single cab longbed with a 6.0! From the factory! But the single cab shortbed biggest is the 5.3

hey guys. finally got my bumper somewhat completed. still need a couple more tubes, skidplate, and 2 more lights but here it is. It was all fabricated by me with the exception of the top tube which i recieved pre bent from a friend, and the welding wasnt done by me, considering i dont have a welder. but seeing as i did it all on my own and this being my first shot at fabricating something out of metal besides my exhaust i think it turned out really good.

Looks pretty good for your first bumper, at least better than the first one I build for my truck, lol. I think it would look and help protect your lights better if you flipped the light tabs to the inside of the bumper but I thinks its a little to late.

That's the only thing I fucked up. I needed to make the downtubes at a lesser angle. Now they are pretty steep and look good but there isn't enough room for the light tabs on the inside. I can always cut them off and get smaller tabs but idk where I can get them. I got mine chromoly laser cut from camburg. I'm happy with it but I wish the tabs were on the inside but I don't have much if a choice as of now.

Its all good, now your next bumper will turn out better. It took me 3 to finally get it right, or at least to my satisfaction. I know kartek sells a lot of different tabs but they are a little far from you. Check the place that you bought you tubing. They should carry tabs.

I got tubing at caltime metals. I can go to kartek. They are kinds on my way when I'm going to my friends desert house. I could easily stop by and pick some up.

Hello everyone. its been like 3 months since i have updated this. hah well anyway, bumper still looks the same, lights broke so i ditched them. but i did some small things, put some led lighting inside the AC vents, did a black suede headliner, reppin a friends company now just for fun (fword), im in the process of building a rear bumper/spare tire holder which i just got the mounts finished today, picked up a one piece fully molded fiberglass grill for dirt cheap, fixed a little chip with some bondo-glass and painted it. the pics are of it primered and half done, but now its fully painted. moved the antenna next to the cab rather then off the bed. ditched the taillight tint. Soon to come: kmc enduros, front glass, finish front and rear bumper, pull bedsides, cst coils, shocks all around, build upper control arms, 4 new lights on front bumper, 2 ambers in the rear, full center console with switch panel for lighting, and maybe some goodies for the motor. heres some pics i took a few days ago.

yes that's me. I go to hbhs as a senior. I take it that's your truck in your avatar so I will keep a look out. If u see me give a wave or somethin man. Thanks for the compliments. What do you all think of the grill? It's molded fiberglass and it looks super unique and it's kinda different. I have some metal going behind it to fill in the huge holes where there is normally mesh.

For the grill, I would do a billet insert painted/powder coated black to go with the wheels and corners of your lights

It's made by street scene. It's fully molded fiberglass with no bowtie. It normally retails for almost 400$ and I got it for 15$ and spent about 70$ in materials from metal to paint to bondo and fiberglass. But for 85$ I have a custom grill that no one else has. I went to the 4 wheel parts awapmeet in Compton looking for my enduros and they had this there so I snagged it.

yea me either. There isn't one piece of chrome on my truck. I'm gunna go to primo powdercoating on gothard and slater in hb. I have to get a quote still but they did my friends light bar for 50$ so I'm guessing like 20-30$ for my 2 inserts
