    nice, clean, and simple.

There is, somewhere. It's hard because I'm usually the one filming.

    Here is some from Pismo.

im asking because i plan on linking my truck failry soon, and i have the dixon kit up front and have ZERO complaints, the rear just cant keep up with it, but i dont know if it will hang in there once the back is linked....
The linked rear compliments the front end really well. I have my rear end strapped at 26" of travel. The problem you're going to find though is that the suspension is going to flip flop in that now your rear cant keep up, when it's linked the front won't keep up, but not necessarily in a negative way. Overall I feel its good, but the front, at least of my truck, needs a little more spring and another shock. I'm convinced if it had a bypass and a good tune it would be unstoppable. As it is now though I feel it works really well in medium/large size whoops and open desert driving. Death whoops and jumping not so much, but that's how its always been (as we saw at Tuff Trucks this year).

It's really hard to describe since it's my truck. I think you'll like it being linked with the Dixon kit.

Nice! that is exactly what i was thinking, i absolutly love the Dixon kit, and feel the same about the front of mine, great in med/big whoops but not for jumping or "death" whoops.... i should be able to have it linked and driving by March/April.... we will have to meet up soemtime once its done, two of the EXACT same truck :-) I have always wondered if adding another shock to the front could be done... i really dont think there is the room for it....

I spoke to Aaron about doing this a while back, my truck (4x) would need a new upper and and arm mounts to make room. I'm not sure how different your situation would be w/ the 2wd though. I remember a while back there were some pics posted of a white one he was building w/ a 5.0 and dual shocks w/ a custom spindle up front, bumper to bumper cage, fuel cell, etc. That was probably a couple hundred pages back in the updated pics by now.
Either way, I'm really impressed w/ the performance of the front as is, so I'd imagine a bypass would make it that much better. Maybe if one day we all were to approach him about doing a 2nd shock @ the same time....

Assuming his is set up like mine, he'd have to relocate/eliminate the bump stop as well in order to fit the bypass, and rework the shock mount/engine cage. It all seems pretty feasible it just kind of sucks cutting out all that stuff and redoing it ya know?

I think you could use the upper that comes with the kit i was kinda looking and looks like all you need to do is build new shock hoops and a new lower mount. If i had the fab skills and bypasses i would have done it already. Like mike said small and medium whoops are nothing but the bigger stuff is alittle scary.

Yup, I've talked to Aaron about adding another shock too. I'm convinced it could be done as easily as relocating the bumps, building a new shock hoop/engine cage, and adding a mount on the lower arm. There's totally room for at least a dual bypass.

I don't know if I'd classify big stuff as 'scary', I've done it. It's just like driving any other truck, you just need to commit. I'm a conservative driver though, so I usually stay out of it.

    Sweet! Got it off work?

Here's a few highlights from the trans install. Note the smashed filter on the 'new' trans... don't ship transmissions via UPS in plastic storage containers... make sure they are on a pallet. Luckily it seems to be working fine.

Well that's new... where did a picture of an AMD processor box come from? F-n Imageshack.

    Anyway...

Took the truck out again this weekend to Lucerne... it's running great since putting in the new transmission, I've got about 1,000 off-road miles on it now and still running strong.

One picture for now.. Doesn't show much but I thought it was cool.

I wanna do the Mojave Trail once my truck is done.. But that crossing worries me. My truck sits low, and has tons of factory little holes in the cab. Plus I just about have a full interior. Is there a shallower part?

    I'm loving them still.

Yes, I do still have the inner fenders, and yes, they do rub bad on them at full bump. I've learned to live with it for now... lol.

Yes, I do have bydro bumps, all four corners. Fox 2.0x4 in front shortened to 2.5" and SAW 2.0x4 in the rear. The fronts are running 225 or 250 psi and the rear are at 150 or 200 psi (I lost track.. lol)

I see the inner fenders in a couple of those pics w/ 35s, and some nice rub marks lol. Mine rubbed pretty darn good w/ 33s, 35s have got to rub that much more =/

*edit- beat me to the post.

Interesting bit related to the 35's... I cycled the front suspension with the 35's on it one day when I had the blown coilover out (back when I was having that problem) and with the tire stuffed into the inner fender there was only about 1/8" of bump shaft showing. So it's pretty dang close to actually fitting. Anyway..

I want to bring it to the D2G event, but after this weekend in Lucerne it doesn't drive straight... lol

I've been fighting an issue with the upper arms coming loose, if I can get it streetable by then I'll cruise it out for sure.

Hmm, did you install yours? Maybe ours are setup a little different? Aaron installed mine a while back, @ full bump I also have 1/8" of shock shaft left. When I had the 33s, they would stuff into the inner fender almost 2", so aside from making that lovely sound, they cracked the heck out of my core support. Inner fenders aren't there anymore though, so no more rubbing even w/ 35s I still cringe expecting to hear it rub when it bottoms out though, lol.

Btw - I'm jealous of the mojave trail trip, looks like a blast! I was talking to dabid about it on here, I was going to tag along, but midterms kept me home =( maybe next time. I've been wanting to do that trip for a couple years now. Do you have any more pictures from this years trip?

You should have gone, it was a lot of fun. We may be doing it again late summer early winter-ish with just us fast trucks that you could probably tag along with. Watch the Fourwheeler.Forums link David sent you for info. Or I'm sure we'll PM you on here before then if you're interested.

Alright, so one step forward for me getting back to making videos. I got some new software I'm playing with on a new computer and it seems to be working very well.

I took the truck out to Lucerne (Johnson Valley) last weekend and took the GoPro HD and Epic Action Cam. Here's a quick video put together with clips from both of the cameras. The GoPro HD was mounted on the hood of the truck and on my girlfriends helmet, and the Epic cam was mounted filming the front and rear suspension. The camera angles aren't synced up in the video, I just threw this together to see what everything could do, a better version is coming soon.

Be sure to watch it in HD!

Sorry, can't embed from Vimeo here, gotta click the link.
My truck has recently been described as both "Boring and Mechanical". And I love it!
