Putting an actual u-joint on the steering could save you room as well. Call these guys up, they just helped my buddy find one. I think he ended up with p/n UA108.

The bushings are only a year old and were just pulled and greased when we prepped the front end last. Cross shaft may be bent though, they are stock. I didnt even think of that.
nevermind

Pulled the steering box off and there are no cracks in the frame..I did motive the holes in the frame are larger then the holes in the steering box Idk if that is normal. I also pulled the steering shaft out along with the rest of the steering and everything else is straight. My assumption is a benter arm cross shaft. Im going to pull the arm next week and check the shaft.
Gonna tie all the other things up next week hopefully and start driving it again on my days off.

as the bushings in the box wear they get sloppier. tightening the bolt realigns the gears in the box but if you go to tight the steering gets notchy. ive adjusted mine twice and it has play again, i think im about due for a new box.
sweet. thanks for the headsup ill check it out tomorrow night
hahaha this made me laugh cause there is no way im rich but i have a heimed upper
I wanna try messing with my steering box as well thanks for the heads up on that adjuster 22r stroker
And 93TCYOTA i know your pain with that steering rubbing mine is rubbing on my coilovers. I would see if you can put a small washer on bottom of the PS pump and have it sit just a bit higher
I pulled the driverside all apart yesterday. Everything was straight even the cross shaft. I put it all back together, now I just need to put my steering shaft back in and hope something just wasnt lined up right.
My plan is to have it back on the road by super bowl. Small list of things to do, but its gonna take me some time.
-install steering shaft
-grease the rest of the bushings up front
-replace nuts with lock nuts! (learned my lesson on new years)
-replace leaf spring bushings
-fix core support
-mount front glass
-mount lights
-fix wiring for headlights and turn signals (I am still lost on what the issue is with all my lights)
-fix exhaust leak

Well I havent spent much time on the toyota, besides finishing up the steering. I had to warranty out the idler arm again for the second time this season, replaced the jam nuts, and spaced out the tie rods from the centerlink to keep them from binding. Also pulled the header back off to fix the exhaust leak that wont go away.
Ive been spending all my time on the Ford. This last week I replaced the steering column, shift linkage cable, batteries, starter and glow plug solenoids, windshield, driver side wing mirror, and detailed it. It looks alot better now but still needs lots of work. It runs great and defiently has more power then I expected for an older 7.3 with no big performance mods.
To do list next week(more for me to remember):
-front brakes/maybe rears
-front axle seals
-tie rod ends/alignment
-fix transmission leak
-new tires (315/75/16 BFGs!!!)
-install new grill (free!!)
Future plans:
-trailer brake controller
-new tint
-glow plugs before next winter
-simple chase rack, tool box, side steps
-exhaust and intake
-tony wildman programmer

honestly like shit lol I had my hitch set up for my dads stock chevy and didnt have time or the tools to adjust it for my lifted ford. I was in a hurry for work so I was stuck doing about 55 because it wanted to sway. but it has plenty of power! next time ill set it up correctly when im going a long distance.
it will be getting some tuning and things done within the year

Well after we lost the transmission in our chevy, I lost mine two days later. My ford is in the shop getting a built trans put into it and so I had to get the Toyota out back out on the road last week. It has a gnarly exhaust leak from my header being warped. The steering felt alot tighter and does not bind now, but I need to align it.
Then after driving it for 3 days with no issues other then the listed things it randomly died last night. Made a stop on my way home from work, and when I went to leave it started up as usual. Then it kind of sputtered and died. Now it just cranks but wont fire. Didnt have enough time to look into it, assuming its probably a spark or fuel issue.

it was about 30 seconds to a minute. fuel pump seems to be operating normally. ill run thru it on wed and see if i can diagnose the issue.
