yep as soon as u hit a good mump or pot hole the suspension is gunna move and the strap will come right off. a good way is those trailer that have all the grooves on the floor so u can put a strap over each tire.
never had an issue before lol but ill move them next time thats for sure

aside from all that
clutch replacement is complete and works perfect. in two weeks truck will be going to the body shop for cab and fiberglass repair. in the mean time going to get the buckets in, and look for 4x4 spindles and rotors to convert the front to 6 lug.

I'm glad your truck is not hurt too bad. One thing to consider is that you need to make sure you cure the problem that made the trailer sway. Just make sure your brakes on the trailer work good and if it sways you can just manually slide the brake controller instead of using the vehicle brakes. Also make sure you have enough of the load on the front of the trailer.
Sorry not trying to sound like an ass or like your dad or something but I just don't wanna see a thread about how a nice toyota got killed from a trailer malfunction.
me too! it wasnt on the usual trailer or behind the usual truck with the normal driver. which is what sucks. the trailer has gone into a sway many times with or without a load from which i later found out. trailer brakes went out which i didnt know. my truck was all the way forward with a quad behind it. plus the guy went to pass someone doing 85+ lol
lets just say it wont be on that trailer or pulled by him again. only reason it went on the trailer in the first place is because the clutch fried. but hey i did learn that i need to strap it down a little better. im just happy its "minor" damage

one thing that know one has noticed is the guy who was pulling it was doing upwards of 90 to 95 mph from what josh has told me. you dont tow a trailer that fast espically with 4000 extra pounds, that is just common sense, that could have very well been the cause of the sway espically if a big gust of wind hit them.

sweet pics!!! good times!!
if you are still having the steering bind issue, check your idler arm. that same thing was happening to my truck a few weeks ago when i swapped on a new idler arm because the old ones bushings were shot. the problem i found was on the new idler arm, where the hole for the centerlinks tie rod goes through, the angle was way off and it was causing the center link to be pushed back on the driverside. i changed back to the old idler arm and made some new bushings from some scrap aluminum spacers i had laying around and the binding problem was gone. i know the aluminum probably isnt ideal but it seems to be holding up for now and the steering is very smooth.

one thing to conisder, if your not racing it you dont really need the 4x4 spindle strength. 2wd t100 spindles and brakes are an easier swap. only thing that is need is some custom steering arms on the spindle but i have some if you decide to go that route.
there are pics of the t100 lift spindles i built in my build thread.

never built 4x4 ones or even looked at them up close, but the 2wd t100 ones look identical to the 2wd pickup spindles just alittle beefier. one thing i do know if that you dont have to deal with the big ass hole in the bottom of the spindle where the balljoint usually bolts on.
Where were those pics taken? Looks like a fun spot.
pics were done behind speedworld.. small little area... need a bigger area next time! pima and jomax for sure!
well its not the best pics but it kind of show what i mean. see the different arm angle? i also just noticed that the one im not using arm seems to be about a 1/2'' longer too.
and this is an extra spacer i have laying around but it just like the ones i used to make the bushings. i drilled out the middle hole to fit the OD of the idler arm shaft and then filed down the outside to fit into the body of the idler arm housing.

i dont know, my guess would be a cheap chinese knock off part but thats what was causing my steering to bind just like his is doing. it was scary as hell when i would turn a corner and the steering would lock up for a second.
My old truck used to do that for about a week until I found out why. One of the bolts on the steering shaft came loose, where it bolts to that rubber thing, between the steering shaft and the steering box. When I would turn the truck the head of the loose bolt would hang up on the ridges on the steering box until I turned the wheel hard enough that the bolt slid back up and over the ridge, and would do the same thing on the next ridge.
i dont get how his steering is hitting the a-arm bolt, my steering is no where near the bolts, it is at least an inch above them.
i dont think its the idler arm. if you look at the second pic you can see that the joint on my center link on the driver side is pulled towards the rear of the truck.
looks as if the center link is bent back and down??

her you can see how high mine is compared to yours. it has custom ends on the center link but its in the stock location.

do u have a driver side pic where the tie rod connects to the center link so i can see where its at in comparison to my lower arm bolt
