    Default RicherRacing shop truck build!!!

Over the past year we have been working on the RicherRacing shop truck sporadically whenever time would allow, and now that Off Road Expo is less than a month away, we have stepped it up a bit As most of you know, when building a truck plans ALWAYS change. When I first bought the truck all I wanted to was race it and build it as simple as possible. The plan was to prototype our performance kit off the truck and run the Deaver spring under setup in the rear and have fun with it. After tearing apart my old F-150 (with plans to rebuild it) and letting it sit outside for years I realized that I better build this truck the way I want it, the first time. The truck is an 04 F-150 standard cab "short bed" with a 4.6 V8. We will be running our front LT kit along with our new links in the rear. The entire cage is built out of 4130 which has been kindly donated to us by Summit Steel I plan on having the truck drivable early next year and plan to race it in 2010. I didn't really take too many pictures of the build when we started because everyone has seen a torn down truck, but this is what we have done so far. Don't forget to look for it at the expo!!

I dig the trailing arms Johnson! I really like the simplicity of the cab cage while maintaining a very agressive look. Bitchen dude!

    That's not ride height

If your referring to the last picture, there is actually a lot more room than it looks like. With the mini door closed I (260lb.) can easily get in and out.

It's really not bad. If my fat ass can easily get in and out, i'm sure it'll be easy for anyone else. And if for some reason one day I can't manage to squeeze through, I can always open the mini door.

To me it is. If anyone wants a 2000 F-150 with the cab/frame/motor/tranny i'll take $2000!!! I'll even throw in some fiberglass with it

Thanks Mike, yes we will still be doing the raffle. I'm working on a press release and should have it up a week or so before the expo. I'm stoked, there are A LOT of companies willing to donate for Clean Dezert!!!

    Thanks!

Not to sidetrack the thread but.... We will be throwing a raffle at the Expo and all the proceeds go to Clean Dezert. Tickets will be $1 and anyone who buys 20 or more tickets will receive a free RicherRacing shirt. We probably have over 10 companies donating products ranging from R/C cars to Radflo bumpstops!!! Like I said, there will be a press release listing all the sponsors and what's going on.

    Looks awesome!

Do you still have the extra rear frame section? If so, I might be interested in that, my rear frame rails are a little jacked up ha ha.

I wish. I ditched the ones that were originally on the truck, then went to a junk yard to get new ones. They sat around for too long so I tossed them. I'll make you a killer deal on the truck though

Ha ha, if I had room and a little extra cash, I actually would buy it and pick up another project, but unfortunately that's not going to happen.

What junkyard did you get them from and do you remember how much they cost?
    Thanks,

    Cool thanks!

BTW, the work looks killer, especially those trailing arms. It's amazing to see how far you have come in such a relatively short amount of time. Your work gets better and better with each build and the attention to detail you have really stands out.

I couldn't agree more. Once I get everything dialed in, the mirrors will get replaced, just not too high of a priority for me right now I don't think i'll put a 5.4 in, i'll probably just get a crate motor or have my 4.6 built. My last name is pronounced "Ree-Shay", the r at the end is silent. Gotta love the french
