Helton, I heard from Ryan that I could use filler rod to patch up that hole. Actually the backside is all plated. front mount is not finished yet.

The arm was stepped down that way to allow me to run aftermarket headers and to not have to have super expensive equal length firewall style headers built. Brian could explain further.

Yeah, that is one thing I was wondering, about the steering wheel.
I want one for my 95 (with air bag, which I think I can sell on Ebay) is there an adapter, or do you just cut and weld?

On rangers you'll probably have to weld. The quick disconnect is made by Sweet Mfg. and the adapter is a machined piece, both are sold at Camburg, and I think at kartek too.

to do this set up on a stock steering column you'll need:
    1 aftermarket steering wheel
    1 quick disconnect
    1 adapter plate
and someone who can mill the splined piece that comes with the quick disconnect, to fit over the stock steering shaft then have them TIG it on there.

Right on, thanks for the info.
That is what I was thinking, but needed a confirmation.
Sometimes it is hard to peice all of this stuff together yourself...

Next: (and sorry to Hijack) but what about getting rid of the ABS controller in the Engine Compartment and just running straight brakes, is there a kit for that? Or do you just run soft lines and a proportion vlave? (I already cut the ABS out, now that thing is just in the way!&#33

Yup, you don't need to tig it....it's just baller to do it haha. Plus it looks way cleaner.

AZranger, I'm also in the process of doing my brakes. I had my friend Tim ask some of the tech's at his work about this and he told me that the vss in the rear end is hooked up to the abs computer and if you have a stock auto tranny you'll need the abs computer to be hooked up for it to shift right.

Matt Helton works next to Timmy, and is a tech so maybe he can chime in if I'm wrong.

    My 95 has a 5 spd (M5OD/4.0L /8.8).
When I did the gears, I removed the Toner/Exciter Ring (whatever it is called) from the Diff. I also have removed all of the abs wires everywhere else on the truck, so the only thing left is the Controller (that monstrosity that takes up all of my c/o room&#33. I want that thing gone, so, if I am thinking this through correctly, all I would need to do is use the two lines out from the master cylinder to go to a proportioning vlave, and then out to the factory brake lines??
Or, can I get something OEM for the 93-94 that did not have ABS??

Oh that's the pump, I thought you were talking about the actual computer. Well with the pump disconnect it all and take it out. Put a "T" fitting for the front brakes then have it go into the master cylinder, the rear just goes into the master cylinder.

Cool, thanks Chow. I had heard that a proportioning valve was needed because of a difference in the distribution of power between the front & rear that comes directly from the master cylinder under braking, or something like that.

And yeah, I thought for a long time that I was sponsered by Sparks, it turned out that I just had a drinking problem!!
