little scary for us to see but if they built the bumper to be the weak link, than it did its job..

its alot easier to replace a bumper than to straighten a frame.
i Agree with the logic behind bent bumper, strait frame. i would have figured the tube to just twist back like it did but for it to stay attached not shear like that. but that is why i asked the question. Now no more drama about it lol

im just saying that there was a ton of leverage on that weld/ heat effected area...
I'm not saying mild is superior to chromo, but...the HAZ / welded area of mild is as strong/stronger than the rest of the tube, while on chromo the HAZ / welded area is the weaker area.

...not really looking for an argument, here.

I plan on having the light hoop on my bumper tie into the engine cage, but I'm gonna use 1" or 1-1/4" tubes with a bend in them, so on a hard hit, they should bend before the engine cage...I'd also rather rebuild a bumper than straigten a frame.

    Not trying to start anything
I just thought that it was obviouse to me that it wasnt poor craftmanship just the basics of metaergy

thin wall+cromo=weak at heated area around weld
as I understand it you need unaneeled cromo and then a kiln to aneel after welding to mak thin wall not britle at the welds.

Im no engineer so I could definataly be wrong for gods sake look how bad I type!

the sticker on the windshild explains it lol jk. i dont know whats worse, how unsafe that fucking thing looks, the fact that the idea not only went out side the box(tire)lol or that if it breaks on the road one of us might get hurt just being near it. also huge waist of money in shocks.

yeah no doubt if he can make something the fucking complicated work and do that much work like center mounting the lowers and building a j-spindal, he could have just used little stronger material and made a upper j arm and a normal spindal. aparently it holds up so wtf do i know. i just whouldnt drive it.

I dont have too much room to talk but doesnt it look like the trailing arm was installed upside down. The center line looks way off. Aside from the other engineering masterpieces on the truck.

You just revealed that your name is spencer zagurski, that's what happened. Cool name

Just kidding, click on the "Image" button or the "Browse" button next to "File Attachments" depending on whether you figured out how to host your photos on a free hosting site (like photobucket.com) or if they are still on your hard drive, respectively.

I guess I really want to see more photos of bad fab, I just helped a noob, omigosh.

    those beams were engineering masterpieces.....

....you try putting a round bung into a square beam end, half the size .....in reality, the beams did not fail. just the crappy stock spindal nuts and bearings.
