so after Jonny @ Richer Racing did an amazing job doing the interior and mounting the dash on the 4runner, i figured i would have to bring it back to have them finish the damn thing up. So here are some pics of the progress we they have made in the last few weeks.

    Details:
    Mount Cone Sway Bar
    Rebuild engine cage
mount, radiator, hood, lights, grill, etc...
    new front bumper
    mounting batteries
and mounting the new Trophy Racoma kit from Richer Racing.

check back as i will be updating this forum with pics regularly

yeah it is the 3rz motor which is a 2.7. currently it has headers and a UMP for the intake, but by the end of the build we will be running a supercharger and cams in addition. should be alright with all that, and it will keep it some what reliable.hopefully be putting out out about 260hp

yeah i have had this car for about 6 years now and it has been out every season untill last, because that is when i started the rebuild. for about 2 years i had the esb kit up front and before that it was the tacoma kit by camburg. the back used to have 62s with bypasses.

after having the car out in the dez and raceing with a few friends in there cars, i decided it was time to step it up, but the thing is like no one else, money is tuff and shit like this cost so it has taken me a while, but it will be worth missing one season

well went by the shop today to scope out the progress, and i can say those guys over there are doing a great job with the 4runner.

motor mounts about 85% done, trannymounts are in the works. the motor mounts fit the 2.7 3rz and will be for release soon. hit up Richer Racing if you are interested. all tig'd too!

they Built a tray behind the seats for the dual batteries and some ammo cans

the sway bars is done and installed completly, turned out tits

    cleaned up the lower mounts

and started the frame which will hold the lights and grille

hopefully by next week the lowers and spindal will be done!!!

so just curious... why the build to a 4-runner. so top heavy.... my built one a while back, a j-armed one... and he just wanted to be different..same for your case or what?. and are you gonna run 35s? would look sick

the main thing was it was a car i already owned. in addition i am tired of seeing tacomas, rangers, f150s, tundras.. and what not. the car has over 2 thousand offroad miles on it and it never really bothered me as far as being top heavy. but to help minimize the body roll we added a sway bar. with that and some valving it shouldnt be to bad. but i guess we will find out next season, it cant come soon enough!!!

you might want to box the bottom of the factory motor mount and gusset the ears. Mine cracked the ears and when the motor let loose it beat the hell out of the mount and tweaked it pretty good.

We are definately going to be re-inforcing the stock "crap" motor mount on the frame. We were thinking about cutting them off all together but I think we can get a similar result by just gusetting the stock one more. I'll snap some pictures later tonight or earlier tomorrow of the front grill/headllight assembly. It looks mean

Here are a couple pictures of the removable clip we did. The whole grill/light assembly can be removed as a unit in a matter of minutes. I should have the pictures up of the finished motor mounts either later tonight or tomorrw.
