Hey guys here's my f-150 again. I need some input on reducing the amount of flex that my rear bedcage exhibits.
The flex doesn't seem to come from the tubular part of the cage so much (1 3/4" DOM) as it does from the Factory frame flexing from where it kicks up just underneath the back of the cab. And it's really not alot of flex, but I'd rather over-engineer than under-engineer.
In order to strengthen the stock frame I boxed in the section that kicks up, this seemed to help a little.
In addition, I'll be continuing the bedcage structure through the back wall of the cab and then down through the floorboard and attaching to the frame.
here's some pics that will hopefully help with the strategy.
Thanks, this site and all the people that post rock.

you need to build a full cab cage and tie it into the rear. only way to keep the frame from flexing. you should have a full cage anyways with a linked truck.

OK the roll cage makes sense I'll tie it into the bedcage with the additional bracing I was kind of dreading building one for whatever reason.
I saw Gabe lara's Ranger and it didn't have a roll cage and so I thought maybe I could pull it off too. But then again his ranger still has the stock frame rails all the way back.

    Thanks for the input

So the roll cage doesn't connect to the bed cage at any point?
