i was wondering if they could show any pics of crappy welds along with good and grate ones. People always offer to weld stuff for cheep but i dont know what would be a red flag when i look at that they have done(tire mounts bumpers, mounting fule cells ect....) thanks.

crappy welds look like boogers.....I know because I cant weld for shit. I just hung my bedsides with some cheezee posts I fabbed up and I have to admit the welds look pretty shitty (plus I was using a shitty Craftsman MIG). But they serve their purpose....they are temporary ( my rear end is completely stock....I just need the glass to run my bigger tires until I can get my rear end going. and I would never attempt *to weld anything structural on my truck because I know my limit stops at bedside supports. Ghetto-fab for shizzle.

but everyone knows what a good weld looks like....a smooth semi-thick penetrating bead with zero gaps in it. Just go look at the frame of your bicycle if you have one....those are usually near perfect welds.

its really easy.for the most part when you look at a weld you can tell if it is good..

bead is about 1/4" wide, toe lines are even and not under cut with good wash out, no perosity(little black spots.)

yes if u have an aluminum bike frame check out where the lower main tubes connect to the "neck". The top tube will connect there also and those are PERFECT looking. Even as a kid I was like damn those are nice welds.
