Pushed back 3 - 4 " headers are going to be FUN! I think I can modify some of Summits stainless block huggers.

I will have to modify the second exhaust tube on blockhugger headers. The steering rod will have to have 2 joints to offset away from the engine. I'm going to run a custom column so I have some room to move it around on that side also. I went with a t400. I'm going to run a relatively stock trans. I will change the valvebody and run a good converter. This engine is around 400 HP so It should be fine. It may be easier in the long run to push the engine farther back (complete custom firewall). I'm running a third seat so I can't afford to lose the leg room by pushing it back any more.

haha not rite away but ya nos will most likely end up on it too. The motor is real hard runnin 350 tho its one of our old race engines. The fucked part is runnin 110 gets exspensive:d

The header / steering shaft / steering box clearance will be your toughest bet.

i personally have a 94 ranger single cab that i put an sbc in. i completely cut the whole firewall and trans tunnel out and pushed the motor back about 14" from stock. the only headers off the shelf that would work with the least amount of frame modification are the block huggers. the only thing i say is u better put a really good tranny behind that motor u will be surprised how fast the trans takes a shit. go with like a culhane valve body not some shitty tci or b&m deal those suck.

speedway has fenderwell header kits, was gonna do it on my toyota but decided to run block huggers and build a better engine cage. Is S&G doing the fab on your truck or you just his friend.

Not to hijack, but how do you determine the diameter of the headers. My engine is 400+ HP with a safe shift point of 6800 rpms.

theres alot of factors that come into play when chosing header size not just hp... a nice set of 1 5/8 will help your motor an the botom end torque where as 1 7/8 will better help on the top end... either way you not running a considerable amount of power and id personally run the 1 5/8 to keep a little back pressure on the motor!!!!
