yup, owner is a HP addict.... his boat is about 3200HP and he has about 8 other muscle cars all built to the "T"...

The Cab is already getting prepped and gutted. Plan is to keep the stock door panels and possibly a modified stock dash. Were running 4 sparco non-suspension seats as well.

This sounds like it's gonna be the best looking truck on this forum. Performing tremendous on the dirt and still having the luxury of a stock truck! Can't wait for the pics!!

pics soon to come, started the lower links, shock cross member, and the lower arms.

I need to finalize the uprights and upper arms then they will be off to laser. The rear end will be back next week then I will get to that in about 2 weeks. So I say 3 weeks until some gnar welded pics will surface.

as for the suspension, we are going with a new process for us. This is what is entails.

    -all 4130 components.
    -300 deg preheat process
-"special" filler rod and gas combination
    -slow cool process
    -heat treat to 34-36RC

even with some "human" error involved we will see weld strength in the 125+ range. Just to give you reference, ER70s-6 is only about 60-65 range in relation to tensile strength. Im excited to get this new process going, some of the parts will be mig welded while others will have TIG welded overlays and the other "pretty" stuff...

We have picked out the shock setup, now just need to get them ordered.

Also, the owner have picked out the block, trans, comps, and turbos he wants to run. More on that as things unfold.

Great to see this kind of attention given to the metallurgy. Just wondering what your "special" filler rods and gas mixes are? The filler rods can go many different directions depending on what your final strength goal is. But for the gas, all I could think of is a helium mix with a heavy post flow and back purge. I'm interested to see the results though. You seem to have an aerospace approach to this dirty sport, which is rad! In my opinion... Good luck with the build!

Lol not really... The piston boats are still faster than the turbine boats in some cases. And the turbines are running 15-1600 hp. With the right budget 1600 is attainable with those motors

Ah. Sick boat. How much does the plexi between the outdrives help performance?

EDIT: Nvm its just a giant trim plane... looked like it was a piece of plexi mounted atop the drives
