    Default BTF fire extinguisher mount

These can be hose clamped or welded onto your existing cage structure. This is the 1st one we've made and we'll probably make a few small changes to it, but you just pull the pin, and the extinguisher is ready to go.
available as a weld-it yourself deal, or fully welded as shown. comes with Gr. 8 bolt, locknut, and the pull-pin.
    measures approx. 7" long.
price is $30 unwelded, or $40 welded

I'll take one... will it be ready when my arms are?

Also, Would be way better if the flat pieces were bent to better fit the tube its getting mounted on and the extinguisher

Looks awesome, Brandon. Maybe also put a chain that connects the pin to the base plate so the pin doesn't get lost?

Brandon, do you make them for smaller fire extinguishers? I have one but it's smaller than a full size. If so I'll pick one up when I drop off my tuck on the 8th.

they can easily be used with a small extinguisher as well. I was going to take pics w/ the smaller extinguisher, but the only hose clamps i had were too big

you could easily drill some holes in the flat part of it and bolt it to any flat surface

what material (thickness) is the 2 plates. i purchased 2 from gmr and the plates are to thin and bend. so the extinguisher flops from side to side.

    [QUOTE=NODNARB;1718798]all 1/8" plate.

i think you should make the 2 outer plates a little thicker. like i was saying, i have 2 of the gmr ones and after some offroading they start to loosen up side to side.

Us garage fabbers don't pay much to DR for "advertising" so we don't get to post prices and stuff like that...more or less.

3/16 is beefy for them but looks allot better, have them cut out of 3/16 for sure. the one i made the other day put no doubt in my mind that 3/16 is the way to go for these mounts. also id add a lanyard to hold onto the pin. i can see those getting lost easily.

just to clarify, you don’t need to make the whole thing out of 3/16, just the 2 uprights or 1/8 and make some guestt to keep the "flopping" down. Oh and i would not make it with the 1/2 round tube mount. the flat plat is more universal.

I wouldnt do round, but if there were bends in the mounting surfaces it would hold to the round tube and fire ext better

If you are worried why not just weld some washers on the 1/8 plate so the holes won't oval out. Nice simple design, if I had cash I would be down but no job+ desert truck= not a lot of spare green.

the problem isnt with the holes ovaling out. its with the sideplates being flimsy.

Maybe make it so that when someone puts in an order, they can choose the flat or round. Then when they buy whichever, you spend 5mins welding the uprights to whatever backing they chose? Or just weld the flat backing, but have the option to use round stock so when they order it, you just weld the round to the flat (multi pass)

And deff make the part for the FE angled like the RDC ones
