Got the motor apart...what an oily mess. Bottom end seems fine. I'm just doing headgaskets and whatever associated gaskets to get it back together. Probably a new water pump, and I think it needs a power steering pump. And a metric ton of brakekleen.

    She is lifted

I have not put it back on the ground yet, its still up on the lift. I need to finish lengthening the steering linkage as well as the shift/4wd linkage. I went with 5'' up front and 4'' out back hoping to level her out. I did my worst....this is 100% tractor fab, not quite crappy fab as it is funtional but definetly tractor fab.

Pics as soon as I find my cameras battery charger.

Well car did'nt make it to the dez, but it is finally running and on all fours. Hubs are back off though to get drilled and spot faced for the 6-lug conversion. Ill get some pics up soon and hopefully head over to a smog shop soon.

Shit is legit. Got her smogged (230k on the clock and passed) and registered. Funny shit pulling up to the DMV for the out of state vehicle verification squealing the rear tires due to the welded rear diff.

Might go to Wildomar OHV this weekend. Its only 20 min from me, so it should be a good little test.

Its at the top of the Ortega Hwy. Really, really small OHV area if you have a green sticker or plates.

    Just a little lift

Not to mention the 6 lug conversion with Yota 4-Runner wheels

Went for a little lunch today and tried out 4-low....not to bad. Definetly an improvement over the standard all-wheel-drives. I really need to build a front bumper and skid assembly asap cause now the oil filter/oil pressure sensor/oil pump are the first things to get taken out up front.

Default Wheelin in Wildomar OHV pics

Man Wildomar got pretty damn rough since I was last there. Definetly wouldn't have taken the WRX through this stuff this time.

Fricken 4-low in a car is so badass and works damn well. I'll be ready for some more trails as soon as I get a spare tire and build a skid plate for oil pan.

    Pics

    Going back down

    Fun for the whole family

Well I finally broke something....sheared a rear axle. Good thing the rear end is welded cause I was still able to get out of a little wash. But prior to breaking the axle I was stuck in a ditch for over an hour til I was pulled out. My buddy has pics on his camera, Ill get them tomorrow.
