Haha same set up huh??? Thanks for the input......thats a bad ass ranger!!!!!!!!!
D35s are plenty strong, if anyone tells you different, they don't know how to work on a truck
oh i dont doubt them, i think we are the only two on this site that understands how to properly set them. everyone else seems to think theyre junk because their way of setting them up involves a 10lb hammer, chisels and too much CL
haha seriously. make sure your wheel bearings are greased and packed tightly, the races' are seated correctly, and dont forget to put the lock on the spindle nut, and your golden. I also repack my bearings every trip, so that helps a lot with wear and tear.
i agree i was expecting a bunch of negative feed back.......thanks for keeping it positive...cant wait to start tearing her down this weekend...i wiil post some pics soon...thanks for all the helpful tips...
buy my beams, they are for sale.
you dont need a crappy lift kit. the ride will be 100 times better, and they are wider
Dana 35 Beams and Radius Arms (Camburg Race style)
if i had the cash i would in a heart beat!!lets see what happens in the next week or so...
Yeah, 35's on an Explorer is not too much to ask for. I'm running just that setup.
Yeah, I had to do some trimming.... but they do fit. As far as people bashing the reliability of the Dana 35, I have yet to have an issue with it (broke one transmission and two transfer cases with it, but not the Dana 35).
Sweet build. I ran 35's on my ranger with stock gearing and I did well. If you are interested I have 4.56 gears for trade/sell.

Your 8.8 is good to go. It is a popular axle with the Jeep guys. The Dana 35 will be fine with an open diff, 35s and moderate abuse. I ran the Dana 35 and 8.8 for years under my Ranger before my solid axle swap. The biggest issues I had were wheel bearings, ball joints, and cracking the weak pivot drop brackets that come in the "lift kits". I had to pull, reweld, and gussett them a few times. If you have a Superlift Kit like I did, then save yourself some time and ass pain and do this mod before you even install the lift. Fixing Broken Superlift Brackets
