Default Chevy 2500HD Solid Axle 4 Link Conversion Installation

My last few weeks building this beast has been fun,
100+ degree heat in my old tin gas station bay where the big fan only made it hotter, and the broken swamp cooler laughs away,
gallons of vitamin water and snapple expire thru my glands and that smell of sweat dried on sweat that never left my stench soaked clothes.
Waiting for parts, machining and fabbing what i can & wrenching till late nights of coarse due to a short schedule never the less.
It is a beast & built right.

    Step One, Tear down

Step Two, Factory Bracket Removal & Frame Prep

Step Three, Coilover Tower, Hoop, Bump Can & Paint

Step Four, Transmission Cross member, Links & Axle

Step Five, Coilovers, Bumps, Ram Assist & Axle Build

Finished & Installed Solid Axle 4 Link

    The Beast,

Awesome build Rock! These kits are a Chevy's wet dream...... I have ridden in and driven a few of these conversation and they perform very well. I've even caught some good air in Maurice's RedAdiction with Steven and it handle it very well! Cool build for sure. What this guy do in the rear?

Thanks B, Chevy's wet dream indeed, ive always said who ever comes first putting a solid axle back under there truck first will own, who will it be, Chevy-Toyota?
Dodge and Ford have never gave up yet so, Red Adiction was a bitchin truck and ride height was perfect.
The beast has Deavers and King Resi's in the rear.

Very, very nice. Looks so clean. How many hours do you think you have into the front end swap?

Yep $18,000 Gs! It pricey but well worth it if you own a Chevy and use the crap out of it.

Maybe for you it's a waste of money but for this guy it's obviously not! I agree that the majority of us on DR can do the same thing for cheaper but the kit is well worth the money if you do not have the skill or know a friend that can do it cheaper. Your getting a shit load of parts that 100% bolt on,
plus a complete Dana 60 axle.

Forgot to mention that roof rack, lights & ARB onboard compressor kit was also included & installed in the 16 day build.
Not to many solid axle folks on here but for those that are curious, Get a quote on a Dynatrac 60 fully built like this one, it may shock you.
This kit rides amazing and best thing is, its built to beat if you wanted to and not worry about replacing worn parts every 6 months or
breaking anything like on the weak factory IFS components or giant drop bracket aftermarket suspensions.
Is it a lil pricey, mabye but well worth it when you tally up what your getting and what it could do.

Still, the blue book value of that truck isn't even $18K. I have always half wanted to SAS my Dmax but I drive it every day and much miss the squishy IFS ride too much.

A lot of money? Yes. But did anyone actually read the parts list of what's included? That front axle alone is worth probably half of the total price. Rear leafs, shocks front and rear, bumps, HEIMS, etc etc.

yeah, the axle is a lot of money for sure... but for the money, I'd rather just start with a super donkey and drop in some money into the front and get similar results... some Carli suspension up front on a Dodge ram 2500 sounds like it would be a hell of a lot cheaper...

that said, this chevy looks badass, and looks like theres a looooooot of hours that went into engineering that front kit, looks stout as fuck and well built... would I ever pay that much money for it? Nope, but I bet the owner is one happy customer, which is what ultimately matters...

I work there for 2 years not to long ago and than walk out!. Maurice is a very difficult person to get along with when it comes to business but outside of work he was a cool guy. They mostly do bolt on lift kits and power ad on. Pretty much a small 4wp. If your into the straight axle trucks they got what you need to go big and bad ass.

The ride quality is equal or better with the solid axle 4 link, thing rides like a cadillac but built like a tank.

X2, imo, the price isnt that bad out the door when the truck is done especially the ride quality and being able to beat the living shit out of it and last.

Check out the August issue of Off Road Magazine cover truck, http://www.off-roadweb.com/features/...odge_2500_4x4/
Its a sweet Dodge with a DT Pro Fab kit that i installed, that kit is awesome and built right.
The chevy is capable of alot minus the height, but that was mandatory for the tires he wanted on it.

Hahaha, or untill we get fed up with each others shit and part way's for a minute..lol
To be honest its not just the skills, but the short amount of time i can get it done and the quality in that time is what i got goin.

He's pretty much has his crew of two wrenching away, and not busy enough to bring a 3rd in full time.

That front end is sure clean! Front bumper? Fugly! That kit is DAMN expensive though... tough sell I'd imagine. For that money you could break alot of IFS parts for a lot of years and still be ahead lol The black Kings are a nice touch!
