Picked up the March 2005 issue of Off-Road and there is an article featuring the night race in Lucerne, MDR 200. On the main page at the bottom as shown below!
" Matt Torian knows the meaning of starting from scrath. During a race in a neighboring desert valley, Matt's truck was running poorly. Still wanting to put on a show for the fans, Matt launched Number 1481 hard off of a short, steep jump known as The Wall. When the ranger slammed back into terra-very-firma, the fans had indeed been treated to a big-time air demonstration. The ranger, however, sustained heavy damage. Matt stripped the good parts off of the injured chassis and applied them no a new frame and cab. After many months of late-night fabrication, Number 1481 was reborn and ready to run again in the Prerunner class."
If you get a chance, pick up the issue, it's a pretty good article overall and has some other cool features.
