6-23-08 Bink Designs was called up by FreestyleMX.com’s Marc Burnett operator of the world's largest motocross website and new owner of Camburg’s BITD 7200 Truck to obtain hi-end shots of the new beast. Recently the truck has gone through a serious overhaul with the addition of a new FiberwerX Ranger TT Body, OEM Carbon Fiber Dash, Dirt-Tech Rear-End Housing & Trail Ready Wheels wrapped with the new aggressive “Grabber” General Tire.
A new vehicle wrap on the race truck sported FreestyleMX.com / Boost Mobile / Monster Energy Drinks colors, logos and graphics. Burnett’s new team and the fleet of support vehicles were all decked out in complementing graphics and themed vehicle wraps creating a seamless team identity.
Marc and the convoy of team vehicles arrived late Thursday night to Plaster City West. The area provides a variety of dessert terrain and is highly popular with many race teams that use Plaster City to test and fine-tune their racecars for any upcoming races. By 12:30 a.m. Friday morning it was already 100 degrees out! I knew we had a long day of shooting ahead of us. There was a full moon out so the team setup up quickly to hammer out some night shots of the car, before getting to bed at 3AM.
We awoke at sunrise to re-arrange the race truck, chase vehicles, and trailers to achieve the necessary shots for the team and sponsors. We shot most of the day with the heat scorching around 118+ degrees going through at least 10 cases of water between all of us! The day ended with us getting some action shots of the car and some ride time in before we started having a vapor lock issue that pretty much ended the day.
All and all it was a successful test session and photo shoot. We captured a ton of great shots that will be used in upcoming PR/Marketing materials for many of FreestyleMX.com partners.
