Last time I swung by the shop I was looking at the front end closely, and everything seemed good. I couldn't find any half welds, everything seemed straight.. It looked good. The spindles look different then CEO's, and well as the majority of the front ends layout. As far as legroom goes mount the seats farther back if it's that big of a problem but it didn't look like it would be.
I also know you mentioned selling it, or the idea of selling it. If you guys do decide to let it go, PM me fore sure. There's some things I'd like to take a REALLY good look at first. And dibs on the 6into1 collector too.![]()

Some guy from Texas bought the Jefferies then BJ Baldwin then Bill McBeath truck. He wadded the thing up a few days before i think Primm 08 in Barstow. The thing was a POS to work on and was showing its mileage the last time I saw it before the wreck.
Saw the ex DALTON truck at Parker. AZ Brian nailed it, says Barnett on the side. Looks pretty good for what it is.
except its fuckin shit ass brown now. fail
The Coynes have it. It sitting at the Pro Comp R&D shop or across the street at the manufacturing facility. That thing was a joke once the truck was striped down you could see the poor craftsmanship a bunch of un-welded tube joints among other things. After seeing the work done on the truck I lost all respect for Porter. But it's all fixed now every tube is 100% welded a few things were changed and now it's just collecting dust.
i saw this truck once in person at the house of who was doing some of the work on it. cant say for sure if there are any design issues but i can say my front end was based off the same CAD drawing .
cycle the front end, check the bumpsteer and make sure there is some cross bracing/bulkhead to keep the upper arms from pushing the tube frame inwards. i see on the spindles there doesnt appear to be a wrap and they are probably .120 wall and may split like mine. but who is to say until it actually sees dirt.
most of the half welded tubes were a result of baker's half ass attempt to repair my truck but there were some like the upper shock mounts that were not 100% welded from day 1.

That's mainly what I wanted to do was take the shocks off and cycle it all. Yours first cycled 12" or something like that, right? And then he redid it or something..I wanna see how this on cycles, take the spindles off and look at them closely, etc. I get the feeling their front end has more gussets and better layout then yours did, because it was the first one they did. Regardless I feel bad for the whole situation you went through, and this expo has me leery. But it still looks good though. I just wanna inspect it closer.. How's your truck coming anyways?

Droop (with shocks)
Bump (no shocks)
It toes out at metal to metal droop, but that doesn't mean much, and it seemed to have a lot of scrub last I remember, but the craftsmanship seemed fine.
mine was limited at 12" intially as he was lazy and just used a real short limit strap and fixed mounting tab instead of an adjustable clevis. it ended up at about 17" which is far short of the 24" he claimed it would achieve but it was usable.
baker doesnt believe scrub plays a huge role in off road when i approached him on my front end. others think different.
my arms and upper j-arms never had issues. just he spindles and engine cage. poor geometry on the front end too.
like i said though, i am not sure on the explorer. it looks awesome and that was the reason for cutting my front end off. hope that thing does not have half the issues mine did.
my truck is coming very slowly lol.
