Thread: Jet boat for Christmas

We just picked up this 73 Kona jet boat with a 455 olds and a berkley pump

I went over it as best I could before we bought it and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. We bought it in Havasu.

we took it on the water for about half an hour and it ran real strong. the floor was solid and the interior is decent.

if anyone knows anything about it let me know.

KONA is a very nice hull. the motor sucks but the berkley pump is nice. just don't try to race the shit out of it with that olds motor and you should have lots of fun with it. where do you plan on taking it out to?

I've only had good luck with 455's in my boats. They don't rev past 5 grand but as long as you pay attention to that they run forever. I know its not like a balanced 460 that will take 7000 rpm on occasion but it's good for what I want to do with it. I spend most of my time around Martines and Squaw lake.

Here anything good or bad about them? I think they were trying to make payroll or something. They gave me everything I asked for.

sorry came out a little harsher than I meant. it is a good low rpm cruiser engine. they do good on fuel compared to chevy and ford but I have a heavy right foot lol. boat+olds 455+me = disaster

dorry is a cool guy iv worked for him for a few summers cant say much for the new peeps in there now i dont know them much

I was just wondering if anything shady goes on in there. My experience there was pretty pleasant but I have worked in used cars before and have seen some of the stuff that will get pushed through.
