we used to hike up the mountain from the south end of old town or hope the fence fromt he neighborhood east fo the freeway and walk under the 15 then up the hill. If you hhave a 4wd you can go to the south end of pujol street and tunr down the dirt road that runs along the creek to the big open spot where the tree house is and then attempt to cross the creek there. we did it in a jeep a few times. I have not been up there in a long time. house may have burned from the fires. a dirt bike would be the easiest thing to get up there on.

A building standing on the Garrett Group property played an important role in the city's history. In Lake Elsinore's heyday as a resort for Hollywood glitterati in the early 1920s, the Southern California Athletic and Country Club built a large clubhouse there. The club went into bankruptcy in 1929. The following year, Glen Conklin bought the property and there established the Elsinore Naval and Military School. The school operated at the location for the next 27 years. In recent decades, the building has sat abandoned and unused.

Truax said his company plans on using the building as a commercial center or possibly as an activities center for civic events.

The Garrett Group recently hired a company to remove asbestos and lead-based paint from the building and that work has been completed, he added.

The president of the Lake Elsinore Historical Society said Wednesday that not only is the building an important part of the city's past, but its porcelain tiles, formal ballroom, dining room with seating for 500 people and mammoth fireplaces make it an architectural jewel worth preserving.

"It's absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen," J.J. Swanson-O'Neal said. "They didn't spare any expense in the details."

She said Lake Elsinore needs more developers like The Garrett Group.

"We are absolutely delighted when we have good developers that want to preserve our history," Swanson-O'Neal said.

the building i work at is owned by the garret group. sounds like a pretty cool place inside. I dont think you would get in to much trouble visiting it but it is fenced and to my knowledge theres no real parking around it. plus the area in elsinore its in is GHETTO

Azusa Canyon has a few insane places I have come across over there. I would have to look at a map, and see if I could pinpoint it for you. As far as the I.E., Lytle Creek off the 15 has some abandoned places.

By the way, what camera are you using again, I forgot if you were a Canon or a Nikon guy.

Ok i remembered one i pass by frequently on my bike.its an OLD house that has Everything closed, graffitied and a a sign that says WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU IF YOU TRESSPASS!!its faded but u can kinda read it.I might go tomorrow to take pics, just for the hell of it.
    heres the google link.
    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...&t=h&z=19&om=1

the orange house(s).theres 2 houses in that property i think the one next to it also belongs there.b/c theyre gated together.2nd to last time i went over there was a dead rat outside. For some reason the fence(gate) looks NEW,but its like 3ft tall.(all the "fences" are)

while visiting the relatives in michigan we went exploring. we found this abandoned saw mill, it was then converted into a chemical plant, and then bought by the indians and abandoned. there were gallons and gallons of chemicals laying around and also boxes and boxes of files, checks and old records laying all over the place. we also found a train graveyard, but my laptop is too slow at processing the HDRs (its been processing them for the last 5 hours) so i'll post up the train pics tomorrow.

When I lived out in Twentynine Palms there was a lot of wired stuff out there. If you go to Primm from Twentynine Palms useing the back roads (following the tracks) there are a lot of old stuff out there.
