Thread: 2010 MORE Powder Puff Race

Any ladies planning on racing or guys letting your chicks race?

Even though it is over 2 months away, this is a race the usually gets a lot of entries and hype pretty early in the year. Seems like it is lagging just like the Night Race. I also know how a lot of you feel about the MORE organization, but come on it's for boobies!!

My wife and sister-in-law will be tearin it up in 1400 in my rumpranger. She drove the truck for the 1st time at the 400 to get ready for this.

We will be pitting with Calloway Motorsports. He's got a 12 car. Keep an eye out for us, or them.

Mini 12 will be in Sportsman 4 Banger. We ended up with a lot of guys from DR at our camp last year and it was a lot of fun. Do it again, but plan ahead?

My wife is not signed but will likely be there. Either with the 12 car again or in my Dad's prerunner duking it out with the Mini 12.

One month away. Signed my mom up today. Im guessing that the protocol will be similar to this weekends race as far as pits etc go? Im just mad that my mom and friends get to tear around in the car when I just dumped a couple grand into it to prep for the Night Race compared to last year where it was a regrease/bolt check/oil change prep LOL.

I'm just mad I can't make the race! Well I will be on my honeymoon in Europe....but it still sucks to miss this race. Good luck to all!

I'm pretty sure Maja is going to race with one of the girlfriends in Tonelli's truck Wandrea! I'll be out there supporting aka drinking heavily

My moms not up there but will be soon, 1313. Just gonna test Friday at Hodge since Im sure Main will be too packed.

1435 is signed up going to let my sisters race my truck again this year. They did real good last year and pulled off a 2nd place finish

only a few more weeks until the new Tonelli 5 car open for Harley Tonelli is done. Racing it at the Powder puff race!! Get some

If any of you ladies have a 50K deposit check at your disposal I have a truck for you to race lol

I'll let mine go for a 10K deposit check.

Don't forget to go to the MORE website and print out the pit release waiver and have everyone that is going to be in your pit sign it! You get 1 wristband per signature and can only be in the pit area if you have a wrstband. Nobody under 18 allowed in pits, co-drivers under 18 can only be in there as they get in or out of the vehicle.

what happends if you have random friends that want to come say hi and see how you team is doing.. I dont see the point in this rule if the pits are back enough from the race course what does it matter how many people are there with you?? Or just make a 25mph speed limit in pit row??

The pit is 100' from the course. Your camp is 150' or 125' from the course. There has to be a designated pit area now. Pretty much rope off an area, put up an EZ up, do something that will be designated as a pit area. Your friends/family/you can hang out in the camp, when it comes time for a pit stop, the people with access to the "pit area" go do their thing.

Kind of wierd but what I expected as far as regulations go. Seems like it would be hard to enforce though.

It sucks because it was, for me, a major plus for the spectators to be able to be part of the action. If a vehicle came into the pits, anyone could run over and help. Gives them a chance to check out the race vehicle and get up close to them. That's part of what makes this sport what it is.

IMO there was never a problem with pit safety, so why add rules there? They should only add rules or enforce them better where they need to be, or where the major hazards were. Hopefully it will be one of the things that gets some slack and goes back to the way it was over time.

Since the last race I have set down with the BLM and went over everything that happen at the last event most Rules will be the same but there are some changes.

1. Driver of recorded will be responable to see that all rule are followed by his team members.

2. Friday and Saturday of the race week end thur out the whole course the speed limit will be 35 MPH, 15 MPH with 50' of any person , group or camp. period
There will be a 1/2 mile high speed area set up for testing away from the Start/Finish area.

3. There will be no running of Vehicles after midnight in the Pit areas.

4. The age limit now for Pits is 14. I pointed out we let them race they should be able to be in the pits. People in the pits must be banded.
There will be no Drinking of intoxicating beverage in the pits. what you do out of the pit area is your business.

5. From the orange tip stakes your pit starts at 100' your motorhomes and vehicles will be 50' behind the start of the pits.

Im i just reading this wrong or does it say 35mph on saturday so its going to be a 35mph race

Why would the driver of recored be held resonable for what goes on in the pits?? Would be pretty hard to take charge once you are racing and would suck to be DQ for a random persons?? And what happends when people are driving around late at night that just hear about the race but dont go onto the web site to read all these new rules??

I know. I wish I never went on to RACE TALK on the website. Plausible deniability. lol

Obviously the rules are for only the entrants in the event. They have no right to police people out there to watch have a good time. BUT, if they find out a person is with a racer, or has your race number on his/her vehicle, then you get DQ'd. I hope these strict rules are just fo rnow, and will be lifted as time goes on.

most likely going out with TAR racing 5 car, also watch out for 16 year old Mackenzie Taylor in a tatum class 1!!!!

but if i want to go to different teams pits do i need 2 wristbands or are they all the same?

Im guessing the wristbands will have a number of the car on them like a driver/codawg band but I dont see why you would have to stay within one pit... Greg or any of the dudes that did the last MORE race will know more than I will though.

One wristband will get you into any pit.

Well lets do our best to just abide by whatever rules they put out there. If you are planning on helping out and being in our pit, please message me so I can get all of the paperwork done before hand. I'd like to put a list together so every one gets the proper paperwork and wristband! Very stoked on the upcoming race and puttin it down in 7200! =)

Will that wrist band save your life from a car coming into the pits??? Score and everyone do wrist bands to limit the amount of people in the pits.. So does this mean there is a limit to how many wrist bands your team gets for people that can be in the pits now as well??

The speed limit is for prerunning/driving around Friday and Saturday while the race is not in progress. No speed limit on the race course during the race except in the special zones.

There is no limit. They just do it so they have waivers in case someone gets hurt in the pits. It's silly.
