    Default 2nd

congrats greg on your win, i finished behind you in the 1418 solo built ranger. It was our first race ever, and the driver (chris guillen) and i (david figueroa) are totally new to the whole racing thing. we had a blast! we just took it easy, and wanted to finish. we Got to the line late and ended up starting with 1450, so we never saw you once during the whole race. we also took 10 mins a lap at the pits to look the truck over. we got a flat on our 2nd lap and the trans cooler fan failed on lap 4. we got it going and finished. we will definately be out for the next race, but racing for the win next time. WATCH OUT! haha

Nice job on the finish! Especially for the 1st race! That is awesome. Tom Willis told me this morning you got 2nd and you're related. Your truck looks nice!

I'd hate to own a $250,000 class 1 with a 400hp motor and $30,000 trans....then see that some punk ass kid with a Ford Ranger and a 4.0 SOHC motor just owned me.

Greg your persistence has paid off! You kept on going, re-building, testing and fixing for a year or two...and now look what you can do with your POS Ford Ranger!

yah, we were really taking it easy, just wanting to finish. as it was we pitted for at least 10 min! each lap. that really screwd up our average. In case you were wondering there was nothing ever wrong with the truck, just wanted to see how it was doing as it was the first race. next race were going full bore. watch out greg!

A lot of the class 1 broke and the one that got third was on cruise mode since it had less then 10 miles on it before the race. It stopped in the pits just about every lap because this was a shake down for it.

There is far less money then that in the 1st and 3rd place class 1's. Stock V8's, power glide trans, and a factory Ford 9 inch just to name a couple of the parts.

Don't get me wrong good job on the win but a Ranger is not going to compete against a Dunn Tech Class 1 unless it brakes. You did not even get to see what the fastest one got to put down. He broke a $30 part in the trans on the first lap.

You can say greg is god because he was running up with times in class 1. or you can say that class one had a buch of hackers that ran close to a heave 6cyl ranger.

I will be nice becuasi i know that truck runns good fast solid laps. What we are trying to imulate out there with that blue ranger (not racing) pre running all over there. ]
Congrats to greg. Truck look just like allways. in cruze speen. Love it

Yeah, but Greg's truck is a Ford Ranger, it started life as a factory Ford....do you know how hard it is to overcome the blue oval death? lol

I don't remember seeing your truck but I know there were some real nice looking 14's out there. I am suprised a class 10 did not take over all. That was a lower hp course with how tight and rough everything was. Like I said before congrats on the finish and the lap times. Are you going to do the Holiday 200?

Also no thread would be complete without some drama since this is DR. Figured I would provide some.

Yes I do know what it is like to race a Ranger and Explorer. I have been with teams that raced both.

I beg to differ. The course was still a fast high HP course. It was either rough uneven terrain, or super fast straights.

Like I said earlier in the thread, don't know yet. If there is BIG contingency for 1400 like Jim said he was going to try to get, then yes. Otherwise I need to pay off the old credit card.

You notice how quiet it was at night? Nobody drove around at all. Then some id%& started blasting his vuvezuela. All night long. I just wanted to ram it down his throat. Shitty pieces of plastic junk.
The way i see it.....if you keep fixing things, eventually you will have a new truck.
