It wasn't Memorial weekend last year either. Much better for the racers on the off weekend. Still get ot do whatever on Memorial weekend and not as many yahoos out wandering the course unknowingly

The race is set for May 21st. Memorial Day is the following weekend.

Sadly I thinks this years 500 will have lot smaller car count than in the past due to SNORE's PC race the week before.

You might be surprised. The last couple of years there have been (2) races the weekend before and the car counts were still high.

hopefully it is or at least one thats as hard and as long. i wonder if MORE will use more parts from some of the previous years MDR courses since they have no more competition with them over land...

FYI - there was never an issue with MDR/MORE and use of any land. MORE could always run on any course that MDR did but chose not to race near Rockpile or Soggy Dry Lake

All the courses belong to the BLM. The promoter picks their course and submits to BLM for approval. Jim chose to stay away from Soggy Dry Lake because of all the moto/quad/jeep activity. He also chose to stay away from the Wall area.

there is $$$ for 1450's this year!!! $500 for the leafspring guys.. $300 for 1st place & $200 for 1st finisher using royal purple, but we need 8 trucks to start the race....

Its smoother and faster than barstow when I co-dogged in a jeepspeed 2 years ago.

It not bad at all I raced it last year in a 1450 (1484) leaf spring yota and it was still a fast track, compared to any of Barstow it is a Freeway
